I think its the best SP in a halo game since 1, and has a way more interesting story than halo 2 and 3. Fighting the elites is way better than brutes and gay wad talking plants. Elites are a formidable foe on the more difficult modes.
Its taken me quite a while to get near the end, so I think its a good length, even when compared to alot of SP only games.

probably dont have split screen, co-op online and off, a map maker, a theater mode, firefight type mode or online splitscreen.
It has alot more detail on everything.
if they dont have a shild, or its down, the needles will blow up after only 3 stick in them. But for shields I think the dmr is better.
I use the DMR in multiplayer and like to use the needle rifle to explode the grunts in SP.
I only rented it but will probably buy it for cheap someday to play it again.

Just recently I decided that I NEEDED this game. Already finished DMC, NG2, Bayonetta and GoW3, so im really looking forward to this one.

Im not really sure how much a comparable PC would cost, but it wouldnt be anywhere close to 7000$. A 360 costs 200 or 300$.

Halo appeals to more people. Those games dont offer the same amount of game modes for multiplayer/co-op/split-screen . Not to mention FPS are pretty popular today and HALO has been around for 6 more years, and one more console gen, than uncharted or Mass effect.
Both of the games you mention sold great even of not as much as halo. I got them all on day one, so I did my part.
