...but the use of his ill friend to cover his biased dislike for UC2 is low. I don't see how a sane, rational person would make the link from his friend's admittedly heart-wrenching situation to bashing UC2 - is there any need? This guy needs to be laughed out of the journalistic community if that's how he dresses up his articles - pathetic. And I'd say the same if he used something like Halo or another MS exclusive as the basis for his rant.
Has anyone noticed that since news of Naughty Dog thanking Bungie emerged, the furore about Halo ODST's review scores matching Uncharted 2's seems to have died down? Maybe this was done not so that the XBOX/PS3 fanboys would stop being childish but more so that those amongst the biased reviewing sites who inflated ODST's score whilst deflating UC2's score would take a look at themselves and realise how taking sides was worthless if the developers of the two seperate titles were friendly? Just...
rubbish video - at least show an external view of both cars from Forza 1 and 3. What a waste of time (and bandwidth).
I downloaded the Forza 2 demo a few months before playing the Forza 3 demo, and in comparison Forza 2 looks like one of those shareware PC racing games/demos that you'd get free with games magazines in the 90's. Forza 3 is absolutely miles ahead of it's predecessor in terms of visuals and gameplay.
Edit: I don't even like racing games, yet I enjoyed ...
From an XBOX-centric site, this review is AWESOME!!! It puts supposed "all-format embracing" sites such as IGN, VideoGamer and GameSpy to shame.
GTAIV wasn't that bad...I liked it a lot in fact. It had a "Sopranos" vibe to it which is appealing if you're into that kind of thing. But I'm also looking forward to getting my hands on Agent for my shiny (well, matte), new PS3 Slim next year!
Let's hope Rockstar really go for broke on Agent, and don't hold back any of the good stuff for the inevitable sequel. I'm sure with the success of Naughty God's Uncharted 2, Rockstar will want to reclaim the crown of "BEST ...
My thoughts exactly. I hope Ubisoft have considered this too.
I hate to admit it but maybe your right. I mean, if Fight Night will be released every 2 years, I don't see why Konami can't do the same for Pro Evo. For the year when there isn't a retail release, they can release DLC for squads, boots, stadiums, etc (i.e. everything not to do with gameplay). That would be sensible if Konami is serious about getting PES back on top.
I can't wait to hold the devil's pot of tea!
Eurogamer would disagree with you.
XBOX360 came out a year before the PS3, as well as having (arguably) better performance in comparative multi-platform titles. Tell me something I don't know.
I'll wait for the XBOX720 Slim and/or the PS4 Slim - I'm not falling for these old tricks again.
...soccer sims and wrestling games have scored higher from IGN UK in the past! I'm not having that, and I don't even have a PS3! There's something very rotten down IGN way...very rotten indeed.
...what about Batman Arkham Asylum in that list for GOTY? It was certainly not expected to be the hit it was when it was originally announced. Ok, so it doesn't reach the heights of UC2-awesomeness but it's still a brilliant game that deserves at least some recognition as one of the years best.
I could play a game from late morning through to late evening/early night when I was in my late teens. Now I'm in my mid-20's, I can barely last 2 hours - for some reason I feel compelled to turn off the game and wait until the next day to play again.
EDIT: This applies to ALL games, whether they be awesome, AAA titles or mediocre sports sims - it doesn't depend on whether I'm enjoying the game or not. I just HAVE to turn off after 2 hours or so.
It's been a long time since I've laughed so much. The 'Hadoken' in the Street Fighter video did it for me.
Surely a watered-down version of the full program?
As long as those buildings and monuments that I'll be jumping/swinging from all look lovely (judging from gameplay videos they do), I can live with a few lo-res textures.
Again, why would Ubisoft do this? Don't they have faith in the merits of their game without having to resort to this? Hell, if I was one of those reviewers I'd feel kinda obliged to give AC2 a good write-up because of that all-expenses paid trip to Italy.
If AC2 turns out to be a genuinely remarkable, highly rated game, then there will always be those detractors who will say THIS kind of weird behaviour is what influenced reviews. Sometimes, I wonder if these games companies hav...
Not a bundle for the American market...LOL.
As if we're all living in a rainbow-filled, dayglo world where nothing matters but lovely video games(!) What a jerk. I've so many problems in my life at the moment I really do wonder whether it's worth it but that doesn't mean I equate my grief with the release of a highly-rated and hugely popular video game.
