Quite so, especially for single player only games which plummet in price. The problems comes when, as the author states, there's a brief window of opportunity to get into the MP side of things before you're left as a noob in among a hardcore following.
One of the key components of a racing game is the racing, surely. DC has some excellent racing, far better than Gran Turismo manages as the other drivers actually fight with you and each other. A huge roster of vehicles doesn't make a racing game good - top quality racing makes a racing game good.
There were dozens of reviews telling everyone it didn't work 6 weeks ago, I don't see what's wrong with sites now giving an up to date idea of the game as it was intended.
I take your point about giving devs a get out of jail free card, but these reviews are every bit as valid as any other.
Looks like Twitch have closed the channel. Hands up who couldn't see that one coming...
Not every phone hack will give you the vehicle... You'll be lucky to get one delivered after hackin a phone.
Hopefully the twist on the old Nazi theme will work to make this something a bit different, there needs to be SOMETHING new to make any future FPS worth looking at...
The article clearly came about as a result of feedback from the inFamous review, but it's an issue a lot of people have been discussing since before the consoles were released. The fact we're still seeing style over substance 6 months later isn't a brilliant thing to see. In terms of defending the review, all writers have a right to explain their opinions further if needs be, personally I'm all for a bit of additional dialogue between readers and writers.

That's something a lot of people were saying before the consoles were released. If games like The Last of Us were still possible on the PS3, why the great rush to get the new ones out before there were the games to support them? Nicer visuals are a great bonus to have, no question, but that can't be all there is to it, surely.
For those criticising, the review clearly states this is the best looking PS4 game currently on offer, but a lack of variety or new ideas essentially makes it a prettier but shallow version of inFamous 2.
You don't need to agree, that's the whole point of a reviewer's opinion, and I haven't played it myself to comment, but at least read the article before dropping criticisms...
That's pretty much the point made in the review. If you're totally done with GZ in that time then you're missing out on quite a bit, just like if you got rid of SJ before the cheesecake had even arrived.
I disagree. It's a game about a young girl surviving in a horrific world, why should it have a happy vibe throughout it? The article says it leaves you with a negative emotion... Who was happy with how Series 1 ended though? It was hardly a Disney ending but it didn't stop it being a powerful and extremely suitable ending.
Strange isn't it. Such a shame that Sony and MS decided the Christmas market was more important than actually giving their customers something worth buying to play...
I reckon that's why so many are set at night time. Gives them an excuse for 99% of buildings to be locked up for the night.
Yeah if you were to read the review and avoid your knee-jerk reactions you'd see this isn't just another Guitar Hero clone. This is something FAR more.
Yup, in the same way they said they'd stick to their DRM guns.
Yeah I'm not sure a racing game is defined by the colour of the cars. As the article states some flexibility would be nice, but I'm pretty sure everyone would agree that it's the feel of the driving that makes GT so satisfying.
But y'know, you carry on painting things. That's ok.
I think the baldness one is more likely than that.
I think this would definitely work best as an option, as mentioned in a previous comment. But if done right co-op can be brilliant, just look at Ghost Recon. This isn't a confirmed feature though don't forget, just a stab in the dark :)
To be fair they're mostly a kids' thing, but these Borderlands ones look great.
Well there is that yeah, or in the case of last-gen GTA5, it might not even be there when it's released...
