The Uncharted Home site was pretty fun, considering it is a 30mb mod it's pretty good.
Microsoft being the root of the problem is quite ironic considering they were so liberal with giving the mod team for Mechwarrior: Living Legends the go ahead.
My thoughts exactly, in fact it reminded me of an interview once by Naughty Dog where they aimed to create controls so streamlined in Uncharted that the player could only blame themselves for failure.
On the contrary it looks like the reviewer couldn't face the reality after all these years and deduced through denial that it was the lack of a "crouch" function that made it a worse game.
If that's not ugly, what is.
You say that with comparison between different industry, whilst it could be valid, but what type of peers do Michael Bay films stand amongst, what great songs/pieces are Metallica inserts played amongst?
I don't think video games have matured to the point where you could easily say just because something is "polished" it ain't good enough, because there isn't much out there to say "polished" ain't a great thing in video games.
This is funny, they gave Uncharted 1 B- and Uncharted 2 A...now we have Uncharted 3 C.
I was expecting only a loose tie-in to Uncharted when I reluctantly pressed play on the video, instead blatantly I got: "started by a video game character named Nathan Drake from Uncharted 3".
Cheers to Naughty Dog.
Ridiculous spin article, why mention the 3G pricing at the end implying it's mandatory, we going to start metering our electricity bill every-time we charge the Vita too?
I'm guessing the rear touch-pad would be good for flicking so you can get the strength of a kick or a pass just right.
They should've done this at the start of the PS Move launch: Include Navi controller.
1. #5: Directional Audio
This is NOT a "Cliche", developers don't intentionally want to give you bad audio cues, it might sound like an obvious no brainer thing to implement, but what you are asking for is 1000s of audio samples being processed. What about storage (try fitting on an Xbox disc), what about RAM overheads for the processing, not everything is EAX certified so how will lower budget games pay for it?
2. #4: Ye Olde England and other...
They probably just did that to troll everyone from both camps.
Ok you do that, whilst we all enjoy award winning TVs.
Wow you just got everything about those TVs wrong.
- You sure you don't have a Plasma? It's cheaper per inch but cannot be compared to LCD, different technology.
- What part of "LED LCD" is misleading? If it was as you said, they would've only labelled it LED.
- No 2D/3D conversion? C'mon you're not even trying.
- Yeah you do get more, try 240hz which is post-processed up to 400/800hz depending...
No surprise if Game Informers gives higher than average scores, they are owned by Game Stop and Game Stop want to sell games.
Ah so someone else did notice this, I had this feeling that the AI was particularly non-perceptive during the demo, but I gave Turn 10 the benefit of doubt after all it was a demo.
The project lives!
I was about to guess it's a Centurion mech, but enlarging the picture showed it's too wide and has much more missile pods.
Anyone have a clue?
I guess there are more gamers than Apple fans out there.
The differences is you'd have a hard time finding servers actually run by the game companies, almost all of them are 3rd party hosts.
Consoles on the other hand are all run by those who made it.
I think the foggy weather effects makes it look more realistic because lighting is a lot softer.
Charlie Higson's opinion (from the article) on games and art is quite spot on actually, he never says games cannot be in the position to be art nor does he ever specifically defines what you would call "art".
"I'd suggest that the things we really consider art are the things that allow us to ask profound questions about who we are, how we live and the state of the world around us. " A statement that exactly elaborates that as long as something evok...
