those cards aren't as underpowered as you think and we don't have stats here but most gamers that get the 5770 card xfire them cause there cheap and then there more than enough power to run games all games even @ high rez and the 5850 is there most sold card right now i bet 189 for that card is crazy cheap, gtx465 and 470 are nvidias most sold card right now also i bet same price range.

ummmm buy a pc gta4 already has most of those features on pc. and its unoptimized code still looks and runs allot better on a high end pc than console after allot of updates though..... imagine if they would of actually done that port right lol.

keep in mind that backround in killzone cannot be reached period its a texture your comparing two different types of games and crysis is by far the best of its kind and look up any huge open world sandbox game on pc and console and you can really see a difference where extra horse power is needed even on a bad port like gta4. you can cover things up in closed off games like killzone allot more.

no because gpu side is more effective in gaming and other areas now also, the fastest supercomputers are now using gpu's and is saving them tons of energy while producing more power in the machine cell tech is hard to develop for in games and ibm even canceled this form of cell and are currently trying out a new kind of cell technology cause as this type of cell progressed it had performance issues, if this kind of hardware was great for gaming the pc side would of implemented it already ...

unless you want a sli rig with 3d vision or something along those lines 1600p (2560x1600). other than the reason above you don't really need to drop 1500 in a rig.
ha my buddy has a pc that i built him in 03 and can still play alot of games on lower settings but he can play em, and when he upgrades he can still play them and more unlike your locked pc (console).
