I have a theory that there are three stages of pokemon.
Stage 1 (around 6th grade or so): Pokemon is SOOOO COOOL AND AWWEESOME!
Stage 2 (around 7th or 8th grade): Pokemon is gay just like anyone who plays it
Stage 3 (around 11th or 12th grade): Man screw it, I don't care if I'm a nerd, who am I kidding? Pokemon is amazing!

Man I really couldn't agree with you more. RE5 feels like a very solid action game which isn't a bad thing, but the scariness is truly missed. Even with RE4 being vastly different than other games in the series, it managed to stay creepy and I really appreciated it for that.
The thing about RE5 being a great action game is that even though it is a great action game, I already have plenty of those. Killzone 2, Uncharted, Resistance 1 and 2, Call of Duty 4 and 5, and so on... those...
Who owns 40 or 50 games for a console at this point in the systems lifespan?
What MATTERS is what you like more between say, the top 10 games of each system. There is nothing on the 360 I like more than MGS4, Killzone 2, LBP, Uncharted, and Resistance 2. The only other games I would want are multiplatform.
But hey, if you can justify to yourself why you have your system, then you win. Don't let the haters get you down.

I'm so sad hearing about peoples bad opinions of RE5. RE4 is in my top five games of all time, and I am truly disappointed that I cannot get excited for this sequel.
Everytime I see the bright African environments with a coop partner I think back to the village in RE4 where you just found the first cop dead and burning at a stake, and realize that that feeling of aloneness and fear may never be replicated in a RE game again....

Leon in RE4 has two cops as backup who die in the first cutscene and is on his own most of the game from then on.

This is ridiculous. How easy is it to look back on a game that is roughly 13 years old and call it overrated? When this game came out, the world respected it rightfully. Ocarina of Time is a true classic and one of the best games ever made.
This was the Nintendo I fell in love with.
