How long did Microsoft support the original Xbox? I think its safe to assume that the PS3 will have about twice the lifespan of the first Xbox.
Also, was there a huge economic crisis striking the world while the Xbox was hitting its stride? Didn't think so.
The fact is, the PS3 is an expensive console because it is a multimedia powerhouse that is premium quality. This thing is the sports car of consoles (which don't tend to sell as well as a Ford Focus). Basically, ...
This seems a little crazy but I can kind of see where they are coming from. If you look at the current state of consoles, especially the PS3 and 360, you will notice that they are much more adapt to upgrades and additions than older consoles. Just look at how the PS3's firmware has improved so drastically since launch for example. Or the movie stores available on each platform.
This makes me think that instead of seeing new consoles every few years, the new trend will be to just ...
The one thing so many people continue to forget is HOW MANY great exclusives the PS3 has. Not everyone has the money to get all of these great games day one and sometimes they might just have to wait a little while. It doesn't mean they aren't interested or don't care about the great exclusives.
For example, I passed on Resistance 2 last November even though I loved the first one because I got BOMBARDED with amazing games, multi-plat and exclusive. It's just hard to keep up somet...
God of War 2 huh? Do your most anticipated games always include games that released 2 years ago?
But seriously, you are always throwing some comment in about PS3 fanboys when it is completely out of place. Maybe you should take a step back and do a quick self-examination.
Just a thought.
EDIT: LOL at all the sale humpers in this thread. Thats what I'm calling them from now on. I hope they don't ever realize that big sales =/= good game as they might imp...
I bet every member of Insomniac is dying laughing at this complete bs excuse to cover up laziness. Insomniac produces an amazing game every year. Seem like that wouldn't be possible if it was so complicated now would it?
There is no way I would consider getting a PSP Go since I have an original and 20 games UNLESS they are able to pull this service off.
PSP sure is looking strong this year though. I was kind of expecting a PSP 2 to be announced soon but the PSP go and the heavy support shown at E3 made it evident that Sony is serious about supporting this little beauty for 10 years.
The PSP GO seems really cool to me and I would love to get one but I'm kind of torn. I have an original PSP with about 20 games and if I get a PSP go I won't even be able to play those games at all.
It would be nice if Sony offered something through Gamestop or a similar store where you could trade in hard copies of your games for digital copies to put on your PSP GO. If something like that happened I might consider getting one. Otherwise, I will stick with my original fatty and ...
Alright guys I see your point and I'm glad we can discuss this without acting like two year olds. However, the concerns I have with Natal are by nature somewhat negative and I apologize if they come off that way but that is just how I feel about the whole thing.
You have to understand that I am starting to feel outdated as a gamer. I am interested in great games, great stories, deep gameplay. I am not quite so interested in tech such as that shown in Microsoft's conference becaus...
I'm truly impressed with how much quality is seeping from this title. The PSP continues to surprise me with games that are very close to PS2 quality, sometimes even better. I think Chains of Olympus was the real eye opener for me.
Good point. But to say that no games even COMPETE? Thats a little much. Anyway only time will tell how these games stack up against each other. I will say that I don't think Need for Speed will be up there with the other two judging by the poor quality of the past few.
+bubbles for the best and most truthful post I've seen in years.
Actually I just like being involved in current gaming news, even if I think it is something that isn't going to be that great. I never said Natal wasn't interesting, its interesting how much people act like it is the best thing since sliced bread.
The reason I am in this threads is because commenting early allows more people to see my comments. This means that more people will respond to what I think, allowing me to continue the discussion before the thread dies in a few hours. I...
Pride comes before the fall.
Yeah well this whole winning E3 thing is getting kind of ridiculous but I will say that I think Sony had the best conference.
Microsoft's conference was decent, I kept waiting for some bombshell game announcements but they never really came. Instead we got a rather underwhelming tech demo that I don't think will do much for games that I'm interested in. Some people would argue for Metal Gear but that doesn't seem like a very big deal to me as it is multiplatform, not an actual se...
Yeah well Milo definitely didn't deserve best innovation anyway. Possibly most blown out of proportion innovation perhaps.
Anyway, I totally agree about Uncharted 2, the beta is fun and single player looks phenomenal. The first one is still one of the best games on the PS3 (which is saying ALOT due to the massive library increase lately) and is one of three games I have a platinum trophy for.
HAHAHA calm down there SaberEdge so need to get all hostile on me. As for calling me a fanboy I think I'm going to have to stick by the saying, "takes one to know one." Just check out some of your previous posts.
Honestly though, I have nothing against the 360. I have lots of friends who have them and I enjoy some of their games every once in awhile.
But yeah, I prefer the PS3 and I think it is a much better gaming system than the 360. I think its kind of d...
Bubbles for liking Metal Gear haha
Agreed. Mass media sucking is nothing new.
Well just so you guys know, there is one shard in the NE corner of the Neon district right of the shore of a dock and it is impossible to see with the radar from the shoreline. That was my last one, just make sure you grab that one and the rest shouldn't be too bad.
Sorry for the supreme off-topicness. ;)
The most important thing to a company is profit. This is not the same as number of systems sold. If Sony can make more money selling the PS3 at a higher price and moving less systems, that is what they will do. That is the smart thing to do.
The only people who care about numbers sold are fanboys who don't understand anything about how companies function. You think Microsoft cared about how many systems they had sold during the RROD fiasco?
Doubtful.
