Alot of people who would purchase a PS3 are currently PS2 owners waiting to come over, and im sure they would want to bring their current gaming library with them. Plus Euro PS3s currently already have software emulation which surley cannot be a major cost.

Snap! £299 is also the price of the 360 Elite here in the UK. This would be a very interesting move indeed.
I wouldn't imagine they would go a head with it until November or even early next year. A price cut is very well but they need AAA games to substantiate it. Releasing a £299 PS3 along side games like MGS, Killzone, LBP would be huge.
I can afford it, I just dont want gaming to take over my life.
I already have a Wii and a PS3. If I now bought a 360 I would never leave my living room, especially with Halo 3 at my finger tips.

Supporting a console that sold 117m and now a new console that will allow them to reach their ultimate vision with FFXIII will not hurt them one bit.
360 fans do not see past the end of their noses. PS3 is going to be around for years, the 360 is already at its peak right now, so enjoy it. Over the next year we will start to see a decline.
Im surprised that they couldnt pull it off. But i suppose PCs have like 2GB ram as standard these days whereas 360/PS3 have 500.

I wouldnt want to picture a day where every one of my actions is run through an MS product. Lets see, would I come into work, sit down at my PC, load up Windows Vista, go about my work activities using Microsoft Office/Dynamics using my Microsoft mouse and keyb. Then I would come home and play on my MS Xbox all night......

Those games mentioned above are well established franchises and will move PS3s. Just like Halo 3 on the 360.

OK - I have not yet played Halo 3 but there is no way that it can be game of the decade.. Year maybe, decade NO WAY!
