I agree the framerate issues in Skate for the PS3 are unforgivable. Graphically Skate is not setting new boundries, if GT5 can manage 1080p at a smooth framerate with 32 cars on screen, well. Its not the PS3s fault, its EA.

My God. I read the comments on this article and its amazing. People are never going to be happy. They b1tch, cry and moan about the price of the PS3 and when Sony do something about it you people think you are getting shafted.
It is an interesting move but my guesses is they are phasing out the 60GB to introduce a 80GB.
Plus you can upgrade your PS3 hard drive incase you didnt know. Very cheap and very easy to do.

They have given people a choice, a model to directly compete with the 360 Elite to steal away some potential 360 buyers. At the same time they have given people an unbelievable offer of 2 1st party games, BC and a bigger hard drive for people willing to spend an extra £50.

Sony were never out of this race, just a late starter. But this is going to give them a boost. I hope for Sony that they market it well, they need to put the word out and go heavily on advertising this xmas to make an impact.
117Million PS2 users now have a very good reason to upgrade this Christmas but I would imagine a portion may wait until MGS is released.
I prefer 720p for gaming. Progressive seems to give a cleaner image. Or maybe is just my TV.

It had no support from developers and it was a hell of alot more expensive than the PS3 when taking into account the value of money way back when. It had no past, or future.

I dont feel cheated. £399, 2 free BR discs + free HDMI cable. Bigger SKU, BC, memory card ports. Also 4 USB (even though I never use them all but they at least they are there).
BC is very important to me as I still play alot of FFXII and God of War.
I honestly think removing BC is a mistake. As EU PS3s have software emulation (which works great!) I could see Sony adding it later through a firmware update or even a chargable download on the PSN. They just don...
