What's the point of a crossword if you can just write any words you want in it?

Gears of War made the whole gaming community's draw drop due to its graphics in 06.

But yeah, ever since then it's been the PS3 or multiplatform games leading the graphics charge. Like COD4, Uncharted, Metal Gear Solid, Killzone, now GT5.

Another thing is that, apart from Gears which isn't even first party, Microsoft have produced no real AMAZING new I.P's. Crackdown was fun but its sequel bombed. Alan Wake will be lucky to get a sequel.

Turn based RPG refers to games like FFX or Dragon Quest. Valkyria Chronicles is categorised as a Tactical RPG, and won many awards including IGN's for Strategy Game of 2008.

That's interesting, so you would base your preference on games around the little virtual trinkets they provide.

Not the lifestyle I'd choose but each to their own.

I suppose it could also have been inspired by Mortal Kombat.

They should totally make a first-person fighter where you have to run around capturing flags and headquarters, but pull of sweet combos and hadoukens to kill other players. Give it a catchy name like Mortal Kombat 7: Modern Warfare 3.

Wonder where they got their inspiration for the title from.

I can agree with you up until the MGS comment.

If Metal Gear is 'extremely safe/simple/vanilla/bland/gene ric, etc', and has inferior 'gameplay, story, creativity, etc' then by God imagine how incredible a non safe/simple/vanilla/bland/gene ric game would be.

I can understand people not liking MGS4, but to call it 'safe' and 'creatively inferior' is ridiculous.

Americans are the majority of buyers behind some of the Xbox's biggest franchises, like Halo and Gears of War.

GT5's European sales are the result of the car-fetish that continent possesses - it's comparable to the Japanese sales of some unknown RPG compared to the worldwide sales. Americans prefer guns, Europeans prefer cars, Japanese people prefer magic spells and clothing that has too many zippers. That's how the industry is.

Ha, I laughed. Some real thought gone into that.

Games cost more, therefore you have to create games that are more likely to sell. If you create some popular games and earn a profit THEN you can make the game you want and take as long as you want to do it. Look at The Last Guardian as an example.

He's gone outside the box with his thinking. Anyone who's read N4G during the whole Uncharted casting knows there's similarities between Fillion and Drake.

Respect to this article.

Loved the Kryten comparison.

Went in thinking it would be some plain speculation, but instead I come out enlightened. Hopefully it is Vice City - it's still my favourite game. Though one set in France or even multiple European cities would be welcome.

I'm finally interested in Kinnect.

Of course it does.

"Sony is looking at the audience they have now to see how to spice up what they are already doing."

I suppose that is true, but if what you're doing has caught you up to another platform that had a 12 month head start then why change?

I guess that's the reason why Microsoft are pushing Kinnect so much: they know they're losing the hardcore battle so they're going for the casual audience that gave Wii such tremendous sales. The thing ...

'LOL' at all the disagrees. I suppose it's true when they say the number of female gamers is on the rise.

Unless Microsoft start snapping up more first-party studios they're in for a bit of trouble down the road. Bungie's gone, Mass Effect's gone, they closed Ensemble, Epic can go multi-platform whenever they please (think Insomniac), and studios like Lionshead and Rare don't seem to be producing quality games like they used to.

Buying timed-exclusivity or exclusive DLC isn't going to win the race in the long run, neither will focussing on Kinnect. Sony has Mo...

A handy lesson for all the 11 year old girls browsing the site, I suppose. Quite the percentage.
