Lol yeah keep telling this yourself to feel better. In fact when a ps and an xbox console release at the same time, ps will always sell significantly more because of a better world wide reception and a much more consistent track record.

Nah i think it could. There are enough xfans whose egos got severly damaged within the past 4 years.
You see it in n4g's comments. After an eternity of damage controlling and lowballing they are able to purchase a new device with the logo of their favorite brand on it, to which they have sworn 100% unquestioning loyality and finally feel in the position to brag and feel special again.
Soon enough the vast majority of these multiplats will suffer from beeing infested with microtransactions, besides being full of bugs and cut of content as usual. There goes nothing above an exclusive tailored to the system and polished to be a masterpiece. It would suck if i would have to rely on multiplats from ea, activision, ubisoft and co to fill up my library.

Tbh i believe next gen the gap will be even bigger. In the early days x1 could atleast feed from 360 success and a good launch lineup.
With the trainwreck xbox has become, sales will even be more embarissing for ms come ps5.

The real question here is: Does playstation need MS ip on it? There are already enough 3rd parties who release their souless gaas games full of microtransactions on ps4, so ms just would be one more.
The only benefit i'd see is to rofl at the" exclusives don't matter "- fanbase's meltdown because phil has the audicity to release games like gears and halo on playstation.

-a pc gamer who bought windows once BUT uses steam and other sources to buy his games, doesn't have to pay for xbox live and ms doesn't see a dime from him ever again?

-an xbox gamer where ms makes money by 1. selling the console, 2. selling an xbox live subscription and 3 getting a cut of EVERY SINGLE COPY of third party games sold on the xbox console?
If it only had the games to back it up and would not rely on extremely sparse ms console exclusives and the 95% of soulless 3rd party cash grab loot box and cut content bug fest games. X would be on fire.
Now it wouldn't even be worth it for the same price as the competition, not to mention at a higher price.
Agreed, even if i strongly believe that ms first should have work on other, more severe issues than releasing a new console for the sake of having the most powerful, i have to admire what they achieved from a technical point of view.
As someone who gets bothered by og ps4's and pro's hairdryer-moments i think it's amazing that ms squeezed all that powerful tech into a tiny case and still managed to keep the device silent.

But seriously i feel like sony's conferences are perfectly timed. They show enough but at the same not too much to get me bored, if a game doesn't interest me for instance. Deeper insight on almost all shown games can be gathered during the after shows where interviews with devs etc take place.
