I love NeoGAF because it's a great source of hypocrisy. I love it when they make fun of other sites for fanboyism and trolling, yet they have an (easily found) abundance of users (mods included) who act just as horribly embarrassing. It's because Nintendo cannot compete in an arms race with the other two companies. It's as simple as that. Iwata has even said that himself, so that is the reason why Nintendo does a different route. Saving money is an obvious ulterior motive, but it's not the main reason. That's a hugely dickish thing to say, and pretty ignorant. Studios create quality software and can still go out of business.
The marketing being a mistake could have been predicted when the plan was announced, for heaven's sake.
I said this in the rumor story, but when just one game can close your studio, the business model for the industry is not sustainable. Something has to change or it will just get worse as more powerful consoles emerge, resulting in even larger budgets.
The demo didn't do much to persuade me to get the game.
The original Darksiders was fantastic. I loved it. I still need to try out the sequel.
