I have no plans to run out and buy a PS4. I'm a playstation fan and all, but great PS3 games keep pumping out, so what's my incentive to rush out to buy a PS4?
I might get this on PS3. I'm not too sold on the next gen systems just yet. I'm really tempted to get a PS4 for Second Son though. I love the Infamous series!
Anyway... once GTA V hits, I'm going to be playing my PS3 for a long, long time. Just seeing how big and diverse the game is, I doubt it will get old fast. Heck, I'm still playing GTA IV because I still seem to experience things in that game that I haven't experienced before.
I don't understand how developers can say "next gen hardware gives us the flexibility to do more and enhance gameplay" and then say that the next gen version is the same as the current gen. If it can be done on current gen hardware, then why the need for next gen?
I prefer third person games because its easier to tell a story. Your character can talk. You can see the character climb, put his weapon away, and hide behind cover. Also, you can easily see if someone is behind you.
Also, the animations in first person games don't look right. Door just open for you, your feet only appear sometimes, your gun is always up to your face and grabbing items often has no animation... The items just disappear when you press a button.
I don't want digital only because some day I want to be able to boot up an old console and pop in the disc and play it. Instead of not being able to download it because the servers aren't up anymore. Plus, I like feeling like I own something... not just renting it.
Also, once you download a game, it cannot be returned or sold again.
I like the freedom to jump in games. It's just the way I am. However, it's not like the game was ruined because I couldn't jump. It was still an excellent game.
I noticed some textures taking forever to load, but that's the only problem I ran into. Some textures in Uncharted 3 took long to load as well... I guess it's the engine. I even tried playing The Last of Us from an SSD drive and the textures took an equally long time to load, so I know it has nothing to do with reading from the blu-ray drive and more to do with the engine not having the resources available to load the texture at that point in the game. The rest of the game played okay...
I honestly can't remember the last time I heard about pot. I guess it's just not a big thing around here anymore. Come to think of it, hardly anyone smokes cigarettes anymore.
Max Payne 3 looks nearly identical on PS3 and 360 unlike Red Dead Redemption and GTA IV.
I think Rockstar has mastered the Cell.
Reminds me a bit of Max Payne, Red Dead Redemption and GTA IV combined.
I want Infamous for Vita. That's all.
I agree. Max Payne 3 is one of the best online shooters in my opinion. It's pretty much the only game I still go online for.
You're one of the few who were disappointed with GTA IV. I freakin' play it almost every single day. Even after all these years, I'm still surprised by some of the things that happen to me in that game. The physics and the life of the entire city is amazing.
Let's see....
Beyond Two Souls
Assassin's Creed 4
Watch Dogs
GTA V
Need for Speed Rivals
I think I'll have plenty of games on my PS3 to keep my mind off of the PS4.
Consoles can easily achieve 60 frames per second on ANY game, but it's up to the developer whether they want more effects/resolution/lighting/ph ysics. Depending on what look the developer is going for, they might decide that a target of 30fps is worth it for a better looking game or better physics.
On PC on the other hand... what ever you're willing to spend on hardware is up to you. If you want to run any game at 60fps, you're going to have to either upgrade you...
Looks to me like average lighting, cheesy effects, bad animations and average gameplay. This game has current-gen written all over it.
Can someone please tell me if the screen tearing is gone?
As much as I loved The Last of Us... it's pretty boring playing it a second time.
I'm on my second play through and I know what's around every corner. I know exactly what to expect... it's just not as fun as the first time.
However, every time I play GTA IV, something unexpected happens do to the nature of it being a giant, open world, physics based engine. Sometimes I even hear dialog that I've never heard before.
One tim...
Beyond Two Souls and GTA V will keep my PS3 busy for a long, long time. I'm not getting a PS4 on day one because there will be next to no games for it when it launches just like the Vita.
Don't get me wrong, I'm a huge PlayStation fan, but I don't see too many games that are launching exclusively on PS4 besides Shadow Fall and some driving simulators. Other than that, Second Son is coming out in 2014 and Watch Dogs and Assassin's Creed 4 is coming out for ...
Don't forget:
Watch Dogs
AC4
GTA V
Rayman Legends
Battlefield 4
Call of Duty Ghosts
All coming on current gen. Who needs a PS4?
