I can possibly understand buying the special packs for a massive game that won't have a sequel for a while (e.g. GTA, MGS etc), but a game that comes out every year and is near enough identical? That's just a huge waste of money.
£615?!?!?!?!?! I actually bought my car for less than that lol, and it's still driving well after 6yrs. I don't think the same could be said for a modern games console for the same price lol
Come to think of it i remember when Heavy Rain was first announced for PS3 and David Cage kept mentioning that Sony were 'willing to take a risk' to get their game out there. This must be why they said it...
tbh, it didn't feel like much of a risk to me, you see a lot worse in movies... but it was a brilliant game, a game that actually makes you stop and think, and even pulls out emotions from you (i never cry or get upset by films etc, but where you lose the boy ...
Just read the article, and everything he says that makes the X1 "different" is pretty much identical to all the PR when the PS3 was released... "we do entertainment and games", "it's a media centre for the centre of the living room" etc etc. So... it's not different then... in fact it's the same...
Only difference he mentioned is Kinect, which on most gaming websites looks like 1 huge negative, but i'll leave that the people buyin...
Yup, my wife's cousin has one and we played it on his birthday (i'm the only other gamer in the family lol). He has a large, by UK standards, living room but we had to move everything out of the way and had roughly 3-4m square of free space and it still said we needed to move away from the camera....
We played Kinect sports football and i had to jump for it to realise where my legs were....
I agree, there are a large amount of hardcore fans who want nothing to do with Kinect, and historically it is the hardcore who will get the console at launch. If they don't want the Kinect they may just jump ship to Sony/Nintendo to avoid it.
Also, if the hardcore don't buy the console, then their non-hardcore friends may not buy the console as they cannot play with them.
It may not sound like much, and we all know MS are pushing Kinect like crazy, bu...

I agree with the PS Move, i kept seeing games use it really well and thought i needed it, so i went and bought it... then only a few decent games came out and now mine just gathers dust...
Vita is probably the best handheld i have owned, and i've owned all the Nintendo handhelds (apart from the 3DS) and then the PSP and Vita.
It's the raw power that impresses me, the games look almost identical to PS3 games, and the OS is smooth and can even multi-task! Sad of me to find that most impressive, but i love playing a game, pressing the PS button and just tweeting a pic or skyping my friends all on a handheld.
Worms created a lot of friendly rivalries with that set-up. If i was playing with my mates and passing the pad around if one us were winning by a huge margin you would just hammer X as you passed the control over so they bazooka the floor infront of them before they even get the control haha

The only games that come to mind are Fifa and PES, maybe other sports games too.
I think most party games only supported 4 as well, as they are intended for a typical family (2 adults 2 kids)
PS3 supported 7 if i remember rightly, yet i don't think many people used that many at one time. 4 is probably the perfect amount, more would have been nice, but i along with most people only tend to have 3 friends in the same place as me at once.
Besides, with online gaming getting another massive boost this gen i doubt most people will even be using 2 controls on the same console...
Normally i would say competition is a good thing and their existence can only be good for the gamers... but the way that Microsoft have handled the release of the X1 is just absurd, it's not so much competition, more of a bloodbath.
At this point, with all the issues they are having and poor PR, it wouldn't be too farfetched to believe the Wii U may even beat it into 3rd place this gen...
From a logical standpoint you would expect it to work in both Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland (from an Englishman's perspective the accent is pretty similar in both, so surely that shouldn't be the problem...)
But this IS Microsoft we are talking about here, all logical reason is left at the door with them and the X1...

However it works i hope it is better than the GT5 track maker. The idea had such potential, but instead they gave us a tool that was just "pick a number of corners, now the difficulty of them, and we will just throw the rest together and you have no other input"....

I don't quite understand why they have made this, it's shaped like a tablet yet only has two "tiny" screens on it (in comparison to a full tablet). If it had removed 3D i would be interested, but i assume it hasn't so i'm not (once the 3D fad dies i will happily buy a new TV/maybe the successor to the 3DS, but until then i don't want companies thinking we want 3D...)

I personally won't be buying the new one after Black and White, those games had a terrible story and really poorly designed pokemon... such a shame, i'd been a massive fan since Red and Blue and then they ruined it for me :(
