...where The Sims actually got more casual. Time will tell if its worth it. I'm not too adverse to the idea of less micromanaging annoying things, personally.
Great title editing.
It isn't overrated, it's one of the most important games ever made. It did 3D adventure games perfectly, and on its first try. Not as big of a step in the 3D market as Mario 64, but just by a hair. It hasn't aged perfectly, that's true, which might be why a lot of people who missed out on it the first time just don't get it. I, personally, prefer to play Wind Waker these days, but that doesn't change what OoT is/was.
I was tempted to DL this demo... No longer.
I would kill for a GTA that takes full advantage of the PS3s power. I don't mind if they skip some work on graphics if they focus on the best open world possible.
Homebrew is what brings me back more than anything. Sure, there's some great games on it, but homebrew is so damn sexy.
Since it has the name "Sims" on the cover, it can't be a risk. It sounds like a nice progression for the series, though.
I wouldn't mind if they did one spectacular REmake every generation, just to show off how the hardware could affect the classic gameplay, and show off how they really wanted the game to look/feel. As long as it's just graphically, or possibly changing the environment/adding new areas like the RE1 remake, it's cool by me.
Wii remakes don't count, by the way. Waggle wouldn't make RE better.
They're seamlessly integrating neighborhood exploration and your homelife in Sims 3, and reducing some of the micromanagement. Yeah, it's not a huge deal to most people, but it is going to make a mighty difference to long time Sims fans, such as myself. Most revolutionary game in 15 years? Hell no, but I'm sure it'll be fun.
Looks cool, I guess. Not a real action game fan, but this might be worth a rental to see the ridiculous QTEs.
Necro and Yun are awesome, what the hell? I agree with Gill though. Regenerating bosses are lame.
No, not necessarily. The load times are ungodly, especially for naval battles. I've heard it can have some performance issues even on beastly machines. I think there's a patch coming out next week to fix some optimization issues, but other than that it's f'ing FANTASTIC and totally deserves the scores it's getting.
...I know I'm not in the majority when I say I couldn't stand FFX. In my opinion, this is where Square had their downfall as developers. The game's overly linear, I don't like any of the characters, but I will say the general plot was good, albeit poorly executed.
Of course, this is all my opinion, and not a very popular one at that... I gotta give it credit for making me buy a PS2 back in 2002. Also, I love love LOVE the combat system. The absolute best form of turn based gamepl...
Incorrect score too - it got a 7.3, not 7.2!
Pot, this is my good friend Kettle.
Anyway, my comment was directed at the masses, not FelinePornographer particularly (though he should think about settling down a bit). Seriously, you think no ones called Killzone 2 the most realistic game of all time? You should read the comment section of more Killzone 2 related articles buddy.
Good list. Street Fighter III: 3rd Strike is my favorite fighting game.
It'd be weird to see an action game/beat 'em up in an article about fighting games, don't you think?
I agree, Mortal Kombat is about gimmicks over substance.
It probably takes place before, during, and after BioShock. Similar to Rainbow Six Vegas 2 (though I'm hoping it'll be much better in terms of overall quality).
All I can say is that I really enjoyed Lost & Damned and look forward to the second episode. From the sounds of things, it was successful, so I'm sure everyone benefiting is happy.
