These embargoes exist to ensure parity between outlets (regardless of the day they receive their review copy) and to guarantee very high buzz one day.
Also, this makes big reviews kind of lower the importance of obviously troll reviews.

Exactly. These cross gen on the new consoles are nothing more than games from previous gen + shiny graphics, therefore very, very limited.
Still, this time I'll feed the trend and buy the game. Wouldn't be able to avoid playing Far Cry anyway. Loved every minute of Far Cry 3.
