Launch a new DS with Wii U System integration, Wii U Controller replaced with new DS System.
Every DS owner will have a controller for home console gaming, and they'll easily be able to play original DS games on the TV or on the new portable.

If Nintendo actually went 3rd Party, they'd sell much less copies of their games, and they'd have no control over the pricing and release dates of their titles.
