Of course it's getting good reviews, it's about mental illness. If it wasn't, it would be a walking sim with average combat, average puzzles and great graphics. Mental illness gets you extra points everywhere lately.
I understand how it's disappointing to some people, but I'm in, I generally race time trials (with a wheel and chair). GTS is looking great for me, I just hope VR supports time trials and the time trials are fleshed out like DC. The only thing I'll really miss is B Spec and offline endurance races (12/24 hr), I'm not doing that online. Lol.
It's literally a MP service game (like SoT). Not sure why people are surprised. I wish it had SP content too, but they let it be known early what GTS is. It's pretty much focused on Esport and training drivers for real racing.
There was a big leak yesterday, the PS4 is outselling the Xbox One 2:1 in the US in 2017 and is 15% than it's average in 2015, which was it's previous highest. It also sold more in June than the Xbox and Switch combined. It's going to hit 70M this year. Crazy.
From what I've heard from people who have played it, is that it feels done. I doubt Dec. 29th is the date, but I wouldn't be surprised if it's early 2018 which they would announce at Gamescom or PSX.

The early access is Xbox exclusive. The game release is on PS4 and Xbox One.
