"It is best for the consumer to launch a console without any exclusives for 3 years?"

Yes! That's why for the good of gamers everywhere, good guy Microsoft bought Activision and Bethesda to take away games from the competition so that they can buy what they couldn't make after 3 years; Exclusives! I hope EA and Take 2 is next on Microsoft's lists! Gaming has never been better since they've started taking buying up multiplats that already release ga...

Hopefully it happens! Gamers around the world would win a second time in a generation! Microsoft is on a roll!

"Would it be the most popular way though. I subscribe to both and I'm usually playing games I still own I've noticed."

Microsoft is buying up the entire industry and putting their games day one on GP. Once enough of your favorite franchises are guaranteed to be available day one for a low monthly fee, eventually people will subscribe and it will be seen as 'normal'.

What I got from that quote you posted is that MTX is the way to go going forward as subscription based gaming becomes the normal/most popular way people play. Narrative driven games having them will be the norm soon, as focus shifts away from selling number of copies to how many players play and spend on your game via MTX while getting access to said game along with others for a low monthly fee. Either that or we'll see less large budget games. High budget games are done with assumption o...

Hello fellow true and great neutral gamer!

What publisher shall good guy Microsoft buy next for the greater good of the gaming industry and prevent Lyin' Ryan from paying for exclusive content even though the good guys at Microsoft also pay for exclusive content but it's okay because they're in 3rd place!!!?

Good guy Microsoft. Looking out for the greater good of gamers everywhere.

Let's go! Thank you Microsoft for bringing much needed competition into the industry! Things have gotten complacent with Sony as the dominant market leader. Can't wait for Microsoft to reach their goal of becoming the market leader by 2030! Hopefully Microsoft buys Take2 next to put even more pressure on Sony to be better! We need them to spend Sony out of business! Gamers everywhere have finally won!

"Sony loses millions of sales on their games by not putting them on day 1 on PC and other consoles. Why would they think Microsoft wouldn't do the same with a major third-party publisher's library of games? It's nonsensical to think otherwise."

Exactly. Imagine how much franchises like Mario, Zelda, God of War, etc would sell on other consoles?

Microsoft will definitely make their games exclusive.

Let's go Microsoft! I hope they buy Take2 next! The industry has been stagnant since Sony's dominance. We need Microsoft to be the market leaders. Hopefully they reach their 2030 goal and make Sony learn their lesson! Gamers and Developers around the world today won! Yes!

Interesting. I never mentioned Microsoft at all in my comment...

At the end of the day Sony only cares about the players...... as long as it makes them money. Money is the end goal for everything. Sony doesn't want the deal to go through because their players will miss out on CoD and in return they miss out on the money that their players generate from spending on CoD. Not a shocking or "pretending" revelation, but I guess you need that spoon fed to you. Keep ...

Just linking it here so that y'all can scroll and see who is absent in this article lol.

"especially when there are more digital purches nowadays."

Apparently that isn't a valid "excuse" even though it's true.

"Juicy quote from 2019 huh."

Yes, Microsoft has changed their minds and now cares about the well being of the Playstation business unlike in 2019.

"Its cute to think this is some chest beating contest. Its about revenue."

"We can out spend Sony out of business"
- Microsoft

This is definitely a "chest beating contest". Cute indeed.

"They pretend like they care about the players but we know it's about money."

Hmmm, Someone has been doing a lot of "pretending" as revealed recently... And I didn't happen to see you in that article, but you sure are in this one... I wonder why that is?... hilarious.

"Sony can't afford it" is the only reason why they think it's okay. If Sony could buy Take2, EA tomorrow they would be singing a different tune.
