Lol nice damage control. After the farse that was the on rails Harry Potter Kinect demo at EA's Gamecon conference, we all know where the future lies in motion based hardcore games, and it isn't in controller free 1.5 second lag camera peripherals. If Dance Central, Kinectimals and Laggy Potter are innovation, then I have no hope for the future of the industry.
Jealous? Don't be ridiculous. They've been playing the game for 8 months already. For the die-hard Xbox FANBOYS however, I can imagine them being butthurt as they touted this game as exclusive/MS exclusive/console exclusive...and well, now a PS3 version only reiterates that this never was exclusive.
When I look at E3 and Gamescon, and I see the state of Microsoft's software, it makes me worry. The only franchises they have to boast about now are Fable, Gears, Forza (which is outclassed heavily by GT) and Halo. They need more IP's. This is just silly now.
Because you know 90% of the 38 million strong PS3 fanbase. I'm buying it. I'll buy the first ME cheap and play on my brothers 360 then wait it out and buy ME2 for my PS3 in January. Simple
In b4 "bu bu but it has always been multiplat"...ain't that conveneant. I'll be picking this up in January :] Great announcement. My friend was telling me about this on the train a couple of weeks ago. Is it worth picking up the first ME on Xbox 360 ?(can just play it on my Brothers 360 before I go to university)
CONFIRMED- January 2011
EDIT@ Above: They probably have bigger announcements (1st party wise)
That demo was laughable. The latency was easily at least 1 second. And the game was on rails too.
Lol the lag on Harry Potter was laughable. Not only was the game on rails (like all Kinect games will be), there was easily AT LEAST 1 full second of lag.
Also did anyone hear what the man just said: "2 big announcements from Bioware"
I knew this was Jim Sterling the moment I saw the 1/10. Do these guys contribute to Meta at all? Not that I care if this piss poor game gets a crappy Meta but, at the same time Jim Sterling's reviews are ridiculous.
Behold the state of the Videogames Industry in 2010. The elite publishers are getting away with cash in, on disc DLC, and unfinished games. How on earth do they have the integrity to release such drivel upon the general public. I hope no one supports this pile of manieur.
LOL Soda, usually I don't agree with your comments, but that was whitty haha Ah man, crappy dev is crappy. They remind me of what Valve did with Orange Box and what Platinum Games did with Bayonetta.
No need to. After E3, all the fanboys said bu bu bu but Gamescon. Not only did MS dash their hopes and dreams in the article you just linked me to, but today 'Play Day' only brought down the Ultra Combo finish that was Xbox fanboys hopes for a decent announcement. Don't label me a troll because you're butthurt.
Once again, MS fails to bring anything worth talking about to the table other than Kinect demoes and gameplay of stuff we already seen demoed/know exists. They said wait for E3. We did. Then after that travesty, they said wait for Gamescon. We have. And we get this 'Play Day' foolishness. I guess this is what happens when you try to run before you can walk.
So when I was playing White Knight Chronicles, clearly I wasn't playing an RPG....nor when I spent the last 15 years of my life playing the likes of Final Fantasy, Pokemon, Golden Sun, Grandia, Legend of Heroes, Ys, Star Ocean, Chrono Trigger...what a pile of bullshit.
@Below: I understand that this is a discourse on genre. But define role playing game. One could argue JRPG's aren't RPG's but have elements of. Could I not say the same about Mass Effect for e...
All I'm saying is, if MS and Sony think that walking up and trying to steal Nintendo's market share like it's not a ting is gonna happen, they have another thing coming. Not only do they lack IP's such as Mario, Zelda, Kirby etc, but they also lack the image (more so MS). 5 years into a console generation is too long to suddenly decide you want to attract a new market in addition to your current one.
Exactly. I noticed a lot of the marketing out there tells you exactly why a product is worth buying. Gives you incentive where as Microsoft's marketing is all about hype. I mean look at Kinect. We never knew anything about it for over a year yet it survived on the hype alone. Marketing like that doesn't work in Japan.
EDIT: Where are my disagree's coming from? Try and tell me I'm lying when I say we knew absolutely nothing about Kinect for over a year, not ev...
If you scroll down and click "next" it will take you to the MS page where the live stream will be. Looks legit.
Either Sony will go into more detail at their presser or we will have to wait for more info at a later date. It won't be at TGS. I can almost be sure of that now.
