Do we want it to? I think the cartoonish exaggerations are much better in games. Realistic landscapes are one thing but character models and stuff just need better animations. A good example is uncharted 4. The realistic look of drake and sully were a real downer. They were much better with the cartoonish aesthetic. Sully looked like he was about to fall apart.
