I have all of the platforms and I do enjoy the console/tv more than my PC. It's mainly because my buddies play on console but I also like the living room playstyle to console gaming. Unfortunately I have to pay for both of these online services and the free games get crappier by the day. I don't fuck with mods or tinker either though. I use the preset settings and don't squeeze every last bit of juice from PC. I just play.

The ps4 pro is bound by the OG ps4 though. The pro will have the same framerates so the OG is still a viable option unlike the OG Xbox. The pro and Xbox slim will both have HDR gaming content and 4K upscaling. So no, it's not a ridiculous comparison. The Scorpio is not an iteration of the Xbox one like the pspro is for ps4. The Scorpio is the next generation, comparing the pspro to that is the ridiculous comparison.

No. It's a ps4, it's not the ps5. The pspro is equivalent to the Xbox slim. The ps5 will compete with the Scorpio. Waiting a year would just prolong the ps5. They did the right thing.
2020 is unreal. 4 years before the next PlayStation? Pro is not a new console, it's an advanced ps4. I think the pspro technology has a good few years in it but I think the Scorpio will force their hand to progress. Generations are getting shorter and shorter because technology moves faster and becomes cheaper at a faster rate. I have no source that's just my guess. Early 2019 tops.

Yes actually. None of them want to go head to head. Releasing the pspro against the Xbox slim this year was a good move. Finalize that generation.
1st or 2nd quarter next year Nintendo has wide open ground. They are starting the next phase. The end of next year brings the Scorpio and a year after that brings the ps5. The spacing removes choice and makes it easier to get all 3 if that's your choice.
So it does play 4K movies. That's cool.
How is HDR risky? I guess in some ways but it's a good risky and new ground. There is no standard yet but that's what creates opportunity.
