That's a good thing. This is probably my most anticipated game by a Sony studio for that reason. Everything else is molasses thick on story, slow as fuck. It's ok to have a game with different pacing and I can't wait. February is a good month for PS4.

I liked the demo enough to purchase. I have crazy faith in the japs right now as well, they are killing it. It will be the 4th Japanese game I have bought in the first 3 months of 2017. Yakuza was fun, RE7 was fantastic and nioh will probably be my GOTY. If I like this I would consider the remaster.
I agree and it did some classic RE stuff right. The character models were creepy, the inventory system was great.
I really took my time the first playthrough and it took me about 14 hours. The 2nd playthrough only took 4 and half but it was just as enjoyable. You could beat it in 2 hours if you wanted to. I think that's one of the reasons it's great.

To be honest I was worried about it at first. I hated the direction it was going and I was going to wait for it to drop to 20-30 dollars. After playing it twice I can say that they did a great job. I don't know how "resident evil" it was but it was fun and I have no regrets on the day one purchase.

I disagree. I think some fear is healthy for decision making. They aren't scared about their first party studios getting a little cookie cutter but they should be.
Now they do awesome with 3rd party, don't get me wrong. They scored RE7 VR, nioh, yakuza and a bunch of titles that are great. But their first party is falling into a pacing hole. The success of the last of us has affected the narrative driven pacing in most of their titles from The Order and Uncharted 4...
