this is like saying, getting a bus pass for 3 months out of the year is a hard pass... looking forward to the new Mustang. They're two different things. This is for people that don't want to spend money on a console.
I don't think many people here can read. They just see something that isn't playstation and get angry
you guys are retarded. With a console you have to buy the console and the games. On Stadia, you buy the games, and use a keyboard and mouse and Chrome.
yes it's similar to steam... the service of achievements, friendslist, chat... is all free, but you have to pay for games.
the free service is achievements, chat, friend list...
Yes, typically you have to buy new games on every platform....
They don't need to sell a service to 51% of population to make money...
lots of those things are just projects that were started on their employees' 20% time and then rolled into other services. Fiber is still going, it's just that other services lobby against them and keep them out of some cities and towns.
again, someone playing 65 hours a month is going to have a console or a pc.
This is for parents that might only be able to play 3 or 4 hours a month.
people playing games 65 hours a month are going to use consoles or a pc. Stadia isn't for people playing 65 hours a month. That's a lot of time
isn't it hosted on linux machines?
I can't wait. My computer is old and I can't be spending hundreds on hardware just to play a few games.
yeah so this isn't aimed at you. This is aimed at people that don't have consoles. Or don't plan on buying a new console just to play maybe 2 or 3 games a year
Do you not already have a keyboard and mouse or a controller made by Sony, MS, Nintendo, Valve, Hori...? All of those things will work.
Do you have a Computer, phone or tablet with Chrome installed? If you do than you can skip spending $170 for their lame controller and a chromecast ultra.
The controller is "trojan horse."
If someone commits to buying it they will likely continue subscribing. I played the beta with and Xbox 360 controller and a Steam Controller and both were great.
If you have a chrome cast, or a tablet/phone with chrome then all you need is a gamepad.
If you have computer with Chrome and keyboard and mouse, you won't need anything other than the game that you want to play.
Take a step back and stop viewing this with the eyes of an enthusiast.
I love games, but I'm getting old, my family is growing and I realistically only have the time for maybe 2 long single player campaigns per year.
If you were in my situation, would you spend $400-500 on hardware that will likely only get 50-100 hours a of use per year after having spent hundreds more on games? Or would you rather spend that 40-80 on a couple per year that don'...
@JackBNimble
They offer console games and PC games. Doom Eternal, The tomb Raider Trilogy, The division Assassin's Creed....
Imagine if you had maybe only 5-6 hours per month to play games. Would you buy a $400 console or build a $1200 PC just to play an assassin's creed game any an 3 year tomb raider game? Or would you just buy the game for $15-30 and play them on Chrome with a 12 year old controller that's sitting in a closet somewhere?
Maybe there are people that would build a $1200 PC just for a few games but I'd rather save my money.
