They all played it safe, nintendo was only one ambitious enough to do more then the average expectation compared to other two. Sony had painfully average and at times boring and inconsistent press conference. MS conference was almost all multiplat footage, and their biggest selling point was a rehash of previous halos, lol. Was waiting for uncharted demo for the entire sony press conference and when it finally came up, no gameplay just a close up of nathan drakes face for 30 seconds...come on...

No surprise announcements like reviving some old first party franchises like it was rumored...like crash for example. Third party showed better gameplay and trailers. I only played infamous (even though I never played a game in series before) once to completion on good karma mode. Tried to go for a second run on evil karma but got bored because it didnt feel as fun the first time. The main reason I got that game was as a tech demo and because there wasnt that many games out(still a good game but if there were other games avialable at the time with more replayability I would probably have waited for a sale) still arent, but by 2015...
Thought I'd offer an atypical viewpoint as a sonyfan.
I only have a PS4 and I honestly dont see it worth picking up right away, maybe when price drops. Theres just too many games coming out in 2015 and the order offers the least replayability, its a game that will prob be fun to play once or twice to get achievements and rarely ever again. I hope Microsoft gets more ambitious with Phil around and do somethings that will even get sony's attention. Just to keep sony on its feet and not complacent and show off more games. Was dissapointed at this years E3 thought Sony was playing it too safe, could have shown more gameplay from the order and uncharted had zero gameplay, just a facial closeup. Third party did a better job of bringing gameplay esp batman and the now third party kojima.

Title is alittle misleading makes it seems as though she answered the question directly. Interesting dev viewpoints though so I cant complain. Of course if ND is probably close to it if not already, this game is on the top of my wishlist regardless next to MGS 5 and Batman. I do think shes def one of the best hottest devs in industry, lol.

I think what author meant was that it was the actual dev reps that where telling him what to do in game: "Most of the time I am essentially guided like a tutorial to go in a particular direction, even when I am in a closed off room! Seriously." They want tight control over what part of story gets shown off it seams.
Been waiting for this for ages... My PC sucks for playing this game and I hate mouse and keyboard. Beyond what people have hyped up there was some element of truth to it. Yes people exaggerate, but it is not much of a stretch to imagine they would have worked on development of both generations at nearly the same time frame, any corporation of that size no matter how focused on a single project has to think long term. Entitlement my ass was pissed that they milked games release until now. Its punishment for milking a release that was more then likely finished a long time ago, they couldnt even be bothered to present the news themselves and let Sony do it.

I wanted to see some surprise announcements, like the crash bandicoot remake that was rumored. The whole alternate scenario is a fantasy, because what sony actually did was boring as hell. The multiplats did a better job of showing gameplay then the actual first party games. And hardline really? that game is nothing but a reskin of BF4, I already have it and premium not gonna be buying a 2.0 version. LBP 3 is ok but its not on the same level as the other first party games.
