He didnt say everyone else ignored the flaws he implied the majority of the larger review sites have in favor of hyping the game. Most likely as a paid promotion.
Heres specific clip from his review where argument got started:

Joe does casual reviews tailored to his opinions, I don't remember him ever saying he was a professional at it. He just says it like it is.
WTF... Damn they really are running out of gameplay ideas, lol.
Sweet I dont fit into any of the categories, lol.
+1 for Joe -1 IGN
Also, lmao at IGN saying decimals are their own category.
Just wondering why their PR cant just plot down a PS4 and xbone demo and get all this "controversy" or whatever it is over with. An extra month or two is hardly anything to fix issues if there are any left like the article is implying. I'm thinking of just waiting until week before launch if there isn't any gameplay on PS4(a retail one and not a devkit or PC), im just gonna cancel my pre-order.
No mention of planetside 2 in that free to play section, but online poker gets a shout out? Complete with Hyperlink no less, lol.
This voice over pack better be the price of a song $1.29 max, lol.
Not the best comparison, but its still too early for one... and IDK if its just me but when I saw the giraffes move on the PS4 version they looked like they were on fast forward and the PS3 slide showed them moving slower, but more "majestically". I'll probably get this eventually since I never got to play it, comparison dosen't really turn me away even if graphics were to be similar.
Felt the exact same way about infamous, but I caved in and preorder the day before release and it ended up being one of the best games I have played so far. Traded in killzone for it. So I'm willing to give this game a shot. Plus, I have never personally played a bad ubisoft game so at worst its a decent game at best its amazing so I figured it would not be that big of a risk.
So I went to the site in the trailer and it asks for a facebook account. I guess they don't know jack otherwise cuz I don't have one, lol.
eh.. yeah but its also already been discounted more than alot of other games online and had mediocre reviews and hype compared to past releases....
"why have you failed to mention Dead Rising 3 @ $25 and Ryse @ $22.49?"
b/c I dont own an xbone. *Gasp*
Figures they would though didn't get great reviews anyway. Also not everyone has to like all the exclusives of their console... in case you didn't know. I pre ordered killzone but ended up not liking it and traded it in for infamous. which was not even a game I planned on getting and didn't think id like it and it ended up being one of th...
LOL $25 bucks for killzone or knack, xD.
Suprised COD isnt $25.
Looking forward to this, hope they drop release date at E3.
I hope so, but personally I might just put it off pre order and only buy it when reviews come out.
Also, its generally a deceptive practice when companies try to downplay or not let potential customers try something until its too late. I dont see how being careful is stupid... its just learning to deal with corporate 101. Rockstar isn't excused from that either they just happened to make a good game.

I get your point, and I wonder my self if the consoles have been adjusted for parity between each other. Then again the game world could just really be that intensive. It's also difficult I would imagine to spend more time optimizing when your making a game for every platform(including last gen), but I am more worried about the gameplay especially after they announced a hands off demo. That is not a good sign IMO.
How long does it take to download games digitally for you? my internet connection is decent, but I would never even try buying digitally. Also a HD space and ownership gripe.
