I pre-order based off whats reliable, and that I enjoy the most. But the moment they prove to be unreliable ill stop. You can reward a company for being reliable and pre-order, but if they take advantage and half ass the next game, they're gonna have to earn their money back.
My list of pre orders is:
1)Batman LE
2)Uncharted
3)Metal gear
Every other game im looking foward to I'll wait for cheaper pric...

Don't. Wait for higher quality pairs later on down the road, mine split on both sides, one split on hinge other side split on the right side headband completely, I haven't even used it that heavily. The sound is good, but they are cheaply made and fragile. I still have them, but with tape holding them together on both sides.
You forgot Planetside 2, but having played the unoptimized PC version. I can safely say im more excited about the PS4 version, contoller and all.

@dougr kinda wondering the same thing... only thing I can think of is upkeep costs for servers, but steam is able to offer free online, how? atleast free to play games on consoles are still independent of subscriptions and they seem to be expanding more then ever. Main thing I would like to see them invest on with this influx of money atleast is for better infrastructure for their network, redundancies and backups,etc.... last DDoS attack may have been unavoidable, but their recovery time lef...
I could tell even in Alien Isolation that they where more concerned with a deadline to match Halloween season since it released in October, than to finish polishing the game from glitches and some weird A.I at times. Thankfully it was too expensive with seasons pass to buy Day one for me, so I picked it up during blackfriday for half off and the seasons pass for half off during PSN sale.

Uncharted, Batman and this game are my top 3 for new year.
I was skeptical about paying full price for it plus seasons pass, But given how low its sales are and how authentic and true to the movie it is I almost feel bad for getting both for half off. I hope the low sales numbers don't deter them from making another, its the best Aliens game I've played since the AVP game from 2010. The thing that messed up visibility for this game was probably IGN's dumb score of 6/10 and the guy reviewing it actively dissuading ppl not to buy it.
Publishers/Devs should have a reliability rating like car manufacturers do based of the last 5-10 years of games they've made. Something like consumer reports or something like it. So that THEY have the incentive to improve, maybe some big site will pick up on that and make it a thing.... one can only hope.

Planetside 2 is pretty darn high on my list and its F2P :) will be main game I replace COD and Battlefield fix for the year.
I think my main multiplayers will also be Battlefront and uncharted. Anything else would be welcome bonus, maybe dying light for da co-op.

I still cant redeem free movie from promo in email. Doesn't look good for them to take this long to recover, they are charging for service this time around. While the initial attack may have been unavoidable the recovery time shows just how behind PSN is in its infrastructure and how little they seem to invest in it.

I wouldn't count that as part as something that would have been trustworthy just because of the studios rep. Its was a new franchise and genre for them and even the new Aliens game suffered from backlash from trust issues even though the studio working on it was known for it's A.I.
If you want a better example look at what happened to batman origins when Rocksteady handed developement of an established franchise with alot of trust to WB M...
