You really have a selective memory don't you? Whenever the PS3 gets a price cut vs the 360 getting a price cut, the overall sales volume is always HIGHER than the 360 each and every time. Thus proving there is more demand for it and it reflects in the higher comparative sales.
It is a given that MS will price cut when Sony does because they are FOLLOWERS not LEADERS....
I originally said by end of this year since the PS3 is only a mill or 2 behind the 360 and every year it outsells it by that or so...add that to what SHOULD be a price drop this year (some time) and that is why I "believed" end of 2011. Problem is, with what has happened in Japan recently that will most likely have an impact on things (how large that will be is yet to be seen). So to estimate end 2011 to early/mid 2012 is a very fair assessment realistically.

There was no "slump" with MK, since it never really made a comeback...it went from being the hot thing to being a grand old "Meh" once they changed their original design. The design was what made it different. That was their hook (plus the gore). And since that point <when they changed it> they've never captured the same audience or size they had with all the motion capture titles.
It would have been better to have made 2 different series like MK...
