That's because before Wonderbook, Sony announced a big new exclusive, PAS:BR and Vita news, and right after Wonderbook, they released 2 brand new gameplay footage from their biggest exclusives.
I agree the Wonderbook presentation was absolutely horrible, but mainly because it lasted that long. But it was probably the only flaw in Sony's conference. Atleast they didn't have a guy pretending to sing.

Crytek, you have the graphics and visuals. All you need is to make a great game, just keep trying. Why bother having the most powerfull engine when their games are so mediocre and generic? Crysis 3 didn't even stood out at E3, not even because of it's visuals. It got crushed by console exclusives like TLOU and Beyond.
The concept of having the player to know the character and watch her grow is brilliant. And that sobrenatural thing makes it unique as well. Can't wait to find out what's 'beyond'!!!

Watch Dogs has no playable demo, so they can't really judge a game just because of a trailer. You know, people just games by playing it.
Just like I said before, you can't compare Ubi to the big 3 conferences. They only showed games. Ubisoft conference is about the games. Sony conference is about the PS3, the PSVita, the PSN, the PS+, the PS Mobile...it's about the PS brand, both software and hardware. They had hardcore moments (Beyond, Gow, TLOU), casual moments (...wonderbook) and apps news (ps+ offers) and talked about the vita. Ubi just showed game after game.

Ubisoft went presenting games, that's it. Sony presented 2 consoles, PSN, PS+, PS Mobile and the PlayStation brand, it's a lot harder than it looks. People expect games form Ubi. But more than that from Sony.
You simply can't compare Ubi's conference to the big 3, it's completely different.
Sony was by far de best. Started off great with Beyond. new IP, new announcement, exclusive details. Then it went with an amazing live PAS:BR gameplay demo. The only downside of the Sony show was that Wonderbook and Book of Spells gimmick presentation. And Vita lacked some support. Ok, a new CoD is coming to the Vita, how about some footage?! But damn, they finished off the best way possible with the new God of War and TLOU.

I don't get tired of doing this comparisons because it's freakin true.
Nintendo is trying to be a jack of all trades with the Wii U by getting both the casual and hardcore gamers. But as people say, a jack of all trades is a master of none. Just look at Sony (not the PS brand, but Sony itself).
So they choose a dark environment and almost no texture showing because of the poor lightning to show off an engine? Ok, those are some nice particle and fire effects, but that's it? How about some photorealistic footage so people can really see the engine potencial?
Then how do you explain the best looking games of the last years have been ps3 exclusives? And just look at this year's E3 with TLOU and Beyond, and even the new GoW.
