I remember back in the 90's with delta force 2 where you had to adjust the range of your sniper rifle to make a shot.
If someone was 950 meters away, you had to range it for 1000m and aim alittle high. I believe wind was in the game as well.
Games now aday are too tuned for Casuals. Even MAG took away alot of recoil from machine guns and SOCOM is headshot friendly. Ghost recon use to be authenic, but since it switched to 3rd person it lost all credibility.

Hip hop gamer greatly exaggerated the competitive online in Resistance 2. Great idea, poor execution.
Ratchet and clank, was also exaggerated as having pixar graphics by him as well.
Resistance 2 was meh. The 8 player Co-op was great but they really should of had more scenarios and levels.
The multiplayer was a sweet concept but failed due to rockets, rockets, and the occasion rocket. Nothing beats respawning like respawning into Rockets. Despite the maps being big, half the time you would get blown up with in 2 seconds.
(Note to Developers: Get rid of grenade launchers and Rockets)
I guess everyone forgot that EA owns crytek, and that EA has one of the biggest PR machines.
Both game will look good, because EA is multiplatform publisher. I think a lot of people will be disapointed in the end.
