360: $231ml
PS3: $152ml
Thats nearly a 100ml difference, if you take into account the large amount of 360 piracy and the fact that most of the 360 sales wont be from non-US regions (no exchange rate boost) thats a hell of a big difference. You can kinda see where Activision is coming from when they said they would stop supporting the PS3 especially if you compare it to EA.
I wonder if they will change the Elite to white then.
This probably means the 360+ model will be the new higher end SKU.
Halo is an easy way for MS to make money, so Halo will never die it will live on as long as the xbox brand exists.
I dont understand why no one moans about Mario, look how much merchandise that has, it even has its on cartoon series
Okami 2 in HD, with Natal brush control and voice acting
All I will say is there is a reason why the 360 got a record breaking attach-rate :)
This is mainly due to the exchange rate, sports games tend to sell better on the PS3 than the 360 in EU. But in the US its the opposite.
Wouldnt they count Halo 3 and ODST as the same game, cause cant you play against people from Halo 3 in ODST
Indeed I have changed it, got to make the most out of my 80MP Halo t-shirt
Sony has shipped 23.8ml while MS has shipped 31.4ml
31.4 - 23.8 = 7.6ml
So no Sony hasnt closed the gap but widened it and that should be obvious considering Sony hasnt done anything (like a price cut) to make them outsell the 360 anyway
@ Blaze
Even though that pic looks really convincing I doubt the real deal will look like that it just doesnt look like a really polished design like literally, its not even the shiny piano black anymore and those buttons look out off place and just tacked on. Plus, it might just be me though, but it seems like the top of the console just got too much empty space.
@ DARK WITNESS
I dont know about the US but i know the only available colour in the UK is black. But mayb...
I do wonder what the REAL Slim will actually look like. And why didnt Sony ever release the white and silver PS3 seems like they finally realized they needed to make a massive change if they hoped to move loads of systems.
Even though the game will sell a lot Amazon doesnt count for much if it did the PS3 would be outselling the 360 but its not
If it does I somehow doubt MS paid for the content, cause im sure no timed DLC cost $50ml
If thats true about the food and drink I will be crying with laughter. But why would people want to be eating for 2 hours at a conference.
Plus Super Mario Bros Wii
If you want to play it buy a 360 simple as that, they are hardly that expensive. In fact they are probably cheaper than the graphics card you would need to buy to play the game anyway.
MW2 is going to be MASSIVE for the 360, it could easily act as a system seller as well without even needing to be exclusive
It will be interesting to see how the 360 version turns out, but i got a feeling those original pics where just target renders rather than realtime.
Edit: This cant have anything to do with the 360 cause if they were "downgrading" it they would need to have finished the 360 version to know how far to downgrade it too, if anything the PS3 just wasnt as powerful as SE believed it would be and couldnt port it from the PC as well as they had hoped
Its not going to happen cause MS said 2 E3's ago that they WILL outsell the PS3 this generation. So I doubt they will want to look stupid even if it means selling 360s at £1 each or (more likely) releasing a new console and declaring the previous generation finished with their console ahead.
So even the ENTIRE PS family combined doesnt compete with just the 360, that makes it look even worst.
You guys say they will be throwing $150ml away but when you consider the expensive development costs that the PS3 brings they may actually be better off, but who knows eh...I wasnt the one who made the statement they did and they obviously know more about it.
