I was 20 when the game was released. I remember coming home from University quite late that evening, having dinner and unpacking my pre-order after. I think I was too tired to enjoy it properly, played it for an hour, maybe two, before stopping that day (after months of waiting, and reading every little bit of news on it). I had few days off after and spent it playing the game, but I remember feeling rather underwhelmed. I struggled to connect with the story and most of its characters, and it...
I honestly don't mind Early Access and games being bit rough around the edges when they come from small/new developers. A small team of people purusing their dream of releasing a game, and wishing for some support along the way. Games like Subnautica/Wolcen, Outward come to mind, But it's astonishing when the same practices are done by multi-billion dollar companies, who's sole purpose is to dish out functional products.
You could expect to find a burnt burger ...
Living in UK, and not having GameStops around, I always find it so interesting hearing people talk so much dirt about GameStop. I never thought a game trading shop could generate this much hatred/feelings towards it.
Interesting read. Jacobs praises the community and VALVE support for the game's continuous success, but I think people don't give the game enough credit for it's extremely tight, slower paced game design mechanics. CSGO (probably unintentionally) plays much like a game of chess than a shooter. There's a huge amount of skills involved, but the deep rooted psychology that comes from producibility of every round (spawn in the same spot every round, with easy to count economy syst...
It's definiately a very user friendly and 'newbie' friendly MMO. It's got a depth of extra content, extending beyond Main quest line. Its community and UX is aimed to make it very digestable for players of all skills.
the article itself however, merely states, the author will report on his thoughts once he plays more of the game. It would be nice if he started his piece little bit later, when he's got actual impressions to share.
they're definiately not on par with; say Digital Foundary, that's for sure.
But the differences are visible all the same. It will be interesting to see how they carry over the same visual fidelity into some more dull environments (train tunnels, vents etc).
Great comparison video from IGN.
I think people don't give them enough credit for the amazing job they've done since the reveal.
When the news came up that Square was taking all the work in-house, consequently taking it away from their 3rd Party contractor to 'ensure better quality', it sounded like development mess and poor management on their behalf.
Now seeing these direct comparisons, it's clear to see where the time/dedi...
fantastic concept !
I wanted to read the full article, but the ad blocker pop up came on, so I passed.
Back to the game- it did some nice refreshing things with the lightsaber, such as using it as torch in caves and closed environments, but the lightsaber did feel somewaht underpowered. I am not sure it did indeed nail the feel. Having said that, it wasn't the poorest attempt.
Weapons such as lightsabers are notoriously difficult to balance due to their overpowered nat...
It's a decent start from the teaser they've released. I just really hope they address some glowing issues and bring it in line with what made Gothic so iconic.
As much as I am excited about the game, and I have no doubts thegame will be a blast to play, I am always wary of developers sweet talking about their own game. It feels like a PR stun more than anything. However it could be just Kitase being candid and talking frankly.
Oh definitely! I really enjoy base / kingdom management aspect in rpg games and it was a great to see that implemented. Made the game stand out from other crpgs!
I am just playing through the first game in the series, and really enjoying it. They've done great job with the game, and consequent patching it (I understand there were balancing issues at launch).
But I don't understand why they're taking the sequel on Kickstarter. The first game should have been proving grounds for them, to be able to take on sequel with sales from the first game. I don't know the figures behind it, or the business model they're goin...
Not sure about free Access, but truth be told, I wish there was better map system or better traversal. Coming back to the ship each time felt a bit repetitive. Freshly unlocked powers throughout the game should unlock a much quicker route back to start of the map (this is already in place, but could be improved upon imo)
the article referred to Souls-genre because of the unmistabable souls like mechanics in Fallen Order. The bonfire -meditatation ring,, combat, enemy respawn system. They've clearly drawn inspirations from the From SOFTWARE games. The author simply debates how it doesn't work for a game which allows for easy play mode.
It's a great fun game, and offers so much more fun when played in co-op !
Brace yourself for "this game is a scam" comments
Author rates down the gameplay section, stating it mostly compromises of QTE and conversation options. I feel like it's part of the 'movie like' genre of these types of games though. It's mentioned the QTE's require even faster input this time around (compared to Until Dawn), which is interesting, as I thought Until Dawn was already quite challanging in a way of inputting buttons.
a gaming console which costs £1400...And we thought PS3 was expensive.
It would be like a final nail to the coffin for the conference. Very hard to recover from.
