AC had 'some' identity, which was definitely lost, or re-branded. I would have liked to see more emphasis on stealth, careful climbing that takes skill (and gradual unlocking), and more focus on story, but as it stands, I think AC is steering in different direction. And if the sales are anything to go by, people don’t mind that.
StupidUsername has a point, and certainly DLC planning happens during development stages, some of which might not be ready at the release, or been only completed after the game has gone gold, during which time all features/content needs to be locked, but from which point the game still has time for new content to be later sold seperately. I don't mind that, but I would like such things to be revealed later or at least AFTER a proper gameplay is released. I do find it a bit insulting to as...
Bit of a bummer for me. I don't have a problem with Epic or Uplay, but do prefer most of my games under a single storefront (STEAM). I utend to get recent AC games on PC, and use CheatEngine to bypass all the Microtransactions (experience boost x2), or Resource buy without having to spend a penny (otherwise I find it too grindy for my taste, simply don't have the time being in full time employment)
The addition of flying mounts in 2.X areas is a fantastic news. I really look forward to seeing it.
I don't know about SONY's fans and their claims, I think most people can just look at it objectively for what it is, a logo. I think that specific letter treatment in logofonts, have been long in use before Sony put any mark on it.
I think maybe I expected something more adventerous. Having said that, there's a reason specific visual treatments work and people like them.
Being a Designer myself, I like it, but I think they've gone with relatively 'safe' option. The logo lacks any real expression or motion. However it does convey the 'boldness' quite well. The X and its use of negative space around it has been done to death before, hence perhaps my slight disappointment
I think the creator behind GT, Kazunori Yamauchi once stated the level of polish and detail behind GT Sport assets is of such high quality they can easily continue using them for many years ahead. Anything they add into Sports, (Tracks and vehicles) can be probably easily transferred into any new iteration of Gran Turismo.
Totally shared your sentiment on the design of the controller. They've managed to convey the element of 'sleekness' which I felt was lacking from the previous controllers.
Looks a bit rough, but I think it can be fun, provided the gameplay and storyu delivers
I don't expect it to score 10/10. I think it's more like 8-9 material, with critisism towards poor side character Voice acting, (think town NPC's), silly fetch quests content filler, and maybe pacing issues. (If we're only discussing negatives)
I just received a copy today. (UK here). I am really shocked by just how early. Seems they didn't want to take any chances with distribution delays caused by COVID-19
I saw that on Twitch yesterday, and it took so much willpower not to watch any of it.
I would absolutely love to see what the updated CryEngine could do for new Crysis. Hopefully with strong emphasis on physics, interactive world, and solid AI.
It makes it particulary difficult knowing it's there on your harddrive, but you can't play it yet !
All in all, the industry seemed to grow in last few weeks, despite the lockdowns and global restrictions.
It will be interesting however, how the numbers are in few weeks/months time after more and more people will be affected by jobloss/unemployment.
It's funny you should say that, because I am sure most Europeans (like myself) feel the same way about NA.
For me, most recently this included the butterfinger bars promo for FF7 which was only available in NA.
I also get the feeling (without any actual research), there's a lot more promotions available in that region than here in UK. However I would be happy to be proven wrong :)
I am somewhat surprised by the lack of interest of fellow N4G members in this ! ha
I skimmed through the text, I have to say it feels very much like nitpicking.
"The way-point marker doesn’t clearly show where the player needs to go to during the demo" -is a line from the article.
I would hardly consider the demo in need of telegraphed markers, since it's pretty linear.
I think it's overly-analysed. I would argue not everything needs to be overly accessible/telegraphed.
Kneon and Spenok I think make really good point. Rebranding and really looking at what works and what doesn't. Creating the typoe fo gaming convention experience unlike others and of course, not risking health and wellbeing of thousands attendees this year.
It's a very misleading title. It's not tech that was reproduced , but rather simply a scene. Looks great but its two different things.
