Gears 2 was a sad sequel, and I traded my copy in 3 days after buying it. (it's one of those games thats never there for rent, so you figure that the first one was good and the second one would follow suit).
in other words, who cares about the updates?
the biggest problem I have with late reviews(I can't believe people are actually DEFENDING a review this late, as if it's hype-proof for whatever reason) is that people have already MADE their decision to buy or try the game, thereby voiding any real purpose for a review.
correct me if I'm wrong, but this game came out 7 months ago. And if it takes that long to give a score, would it really solidify preconceived notions for those who hadn't tried the game?

I mean, it's always LOOKED great.
and that would take a hell of a lot of time and skill to make a game be as damned good looking and not deliver.
