PS4 wont be backwards compatible because the cell architecture is radically different, and far more complex than the x86 architecture they used for the ps4. Lets take a look historically at backwards compatibility...
PS1 games are supported by the PS2/PS3/PSP/Vita. Take a look at the specs of the PS1 they are extremely low and was emulated even back in the 90's with Bleem.

Microsofts conference was super predictable. We all know halo, gears, forza are coming. We've already seen hololens, and yet it still does nothing but give a new camera angle to minecraft, its cool but will almost certainly be a commercial flop. The 360 compatability is not a bombshell, and if you've seen the list of mostly XBL Arcade games its even less impressive. Rares new game looks like a ps2 game, which isnt surprising since Rare exists in name only and much of the creative tale...
This is how angels get their wings
That's funny because Dan Greenwalt himself said that its NOT a true hardcore simulation racing game. Forza is an arcade racing game with sim elements. Calling it a sim is like calling Zelda an RPG...
@immorals forza is not a simulation racing game, sorry to burst your bubble.
After SH3, team silent was disbanded and the franchise was handed to terrible western devs who ran it into the ground... Members of team silent work for kojima productions so this was a match made in heaven.
I dont recall a single solitary person ever defending Konami lol
@ERFO
I have one single profile, I don't understand what makes you think otherwise?
oh im sorry did you play the game? didnt think so.
I also stated it adds replay value IF they make it interesting enough to want to play in that open world.
You like linear games? good for you. They are good for a rental, IF even that.
it adds tons of replay value to a game, IF they can make it interesting enough to make you want to play in that open world.
I stopped reading after "disconcerting" haha
if a game is in alpha one would naturally expect the graphics to be more polished upon release, not worse... remember the killzone 2 controversy? nothing is going to change people just want to give witcher a free pass because its really good, but the fact remains... they shouldnt be showing a game at higher graphical levels then they can actually achieve. Its deceptive.
how is the game broken because you havent updated your controller drivers, and or cant handle driving a sim racing game with realistic physics? i rest my case.
Im just laughing at these people complaining about the handling, ever play a sim racer before?
They actually acquired the original molds, they arent "gutting jaguars" to make these. In fact they offered for sale a clear jaguar case mold, before they altered the mold.
didnt experience any lag...
It was supposed to be over by 7pm est, at 730 it was already fixed
The Cell Engine is comprised of one powerpc based PPE and 8 SPEs. Of those 8 SPEs, 1 is a spare, 1 is dedicated to the OS, with the remaining 6 used for the game. Programmers have been trying for YEARS to get PS3 emulation off the ground on PC with little success. Explain to me how the under powered PS4 would achieve this goal? I'll wait...
