He's probably high as a kite. This article shouldn't be approved if you ask me, they shouldn't get the attention they are craving for.

I've expected more from a DX12 demonstration, Ryse looks much better than this and that was a year ago.
He must've missed the fact that it's possible to enjoy the game without grinding at all... I think that "grinding" is actually fun in Destiny (compared to games like WoW, Guild Wars, etc.) because of the great gunplay and enemy AI.
I can assure you after around 100 PvP matches that it's definately not the best place to farm Ascendant materials. The rewards are very random and I'm rarely seeing anyone getting these materials there.
Just did 5 public events and got nothing at all.
I guess the daily heroic missions (which only give 1-2 mats) and dismantling legendaries is the easiest way then... :S
The game is awesome, you should have tried the Beta if you're disappointed with it.

I need tons of Ascendant Shards, what's the best method to farm those (aside from raids)? Public Events?
I have a Wii U and a high end PC but aside from Dead Rising 3 I play on my PS4 most of the time. Can't waut for smash Bros. though =)
Still we know all releases for this year and they don't even come close to the 2015 ones. Too many really interesting titles have been pushed out of 2014.

If you call this game average then I'm interested in hearing your opinion about the last CoD, Battlefield, Halo & Killzone release and even more Titanfall.
We played both demos with 5 people last night (made a Hong Kong account just to download them) and everyone prefered PES by far. PES plays like a tactical RPG while Fifa plays like a scripted ping pong game.

Being restrictive for your own ecosystem is worlds apart from implementing unnecessary DRM into your console.
Nintendo didn't try to force heavy DRM on us. Nintendo didn't pay 3rd party developers to prevent a release on other platforms. Nintendo didn't stop supporting their consoles in the middle of their life cycle. Nintendo is restrictive because they are trying to be unique - sometimes it's working, sometimes it's not - but they never made any huge anti-consumer decisions.
^And they have good reasons to do so. I don't care how good this looks, the BF4 fiasco is still too fresh. And even if Hardline is being developed by someone else, I'm still not keen on giving my money to EA.
Every game should be reviewed and Destiny is no exception. But critics should review it for the things it offers and not the ones it's missing.
