When they want to upgrade the Pro, they'll push the Pro down to the regular PS4 price, stop selling the regular PS4, and then release the newer Pro.
@arkard, If supremacists were few and far between, there wouldn't be enough to start a rally. I recently vacationed through the south, and was floored by how EVERY souvenir shop was selling confederate memorabilia under the guise of standing for "rebellion". It was ridiculous. The statue you're referencing was placed as a memorial to a soldier who fought to maintain slavery. It is no different than a state deciding to erect a statue of Adolph Hitler or a prominent member of ...
@arkard, If you can not figure out why people are offended by the continued glorification of the fight to maintain slavery and white supremacy, then you can not handle nudity in games.
Complaining about this game's narrative is the equivalent of complaining about Call of Duty's narrative. Yes. War is bad. So it mental illness. But that doesn't mean we can't create ways for people to understand and relate to these issues. In fact, it improves education on these topics. Playing this game will not desensitize the majority of players to mental illness.
Yeah, I had been excited about Deep Down, but it's biggest thrill for me was the tech, which is too far aged at this point. Not sure how they would make it appeal to me again when games like Bloodborne exist.
I'm skeptical of this score but happy if this dev finally has another golden product on their hands. They had a rough patch they didn't deserve!
If XBox One X was not backward compatible for all games, I'd probably jump onboard. But all I see is something that improves resolution. PC has been dealing with this for ages. Sure, there are some settings that can improve draw distance and such, but the bottom line is that we are held back by the lowest common denominator. And since One X games are on PC, too, then the Xbox One X version still wouldn't be the best version in my house.
Things HAVE changed, @No Way. But you still won't like it. If the call of seeing what's beyond each new horizon isn't enough to hook you, then you'll never find an exploration game you like. I recently put a bunch more hours into this game because of the Pathfinder update, and now I'm working on all of my Journey rankings. But this is after having taken about an 8-month break.
I'm not too torn up about Cuphead. If Anthem was X exclusive, I'd pre-order an X today.
I've actually started playing this game again, and it definitely deserves a second chance. I mean, look at all of the competitors out there who still haven't delivered. The game now has quite a bit more to do. It's not perfect, but few games are. I'm enjoying, and I've put yet another 20 or 30 additional hours into it after the most recent update.
This will likely be the game that pushes me toward a PS4 Pro. It just looks so good, and I have a 4K TV waiting for something like this.
I was hoping Microsoft would do better in order to keep Sony on their toes, but I don't feel like they're doing enough to keep competition sizzling.
I'm waiting for the actual system breakdown when XBOX releases. Microsoft has a track record of being sneaky, and I still think most devs are going to target improvements other than resolution, because resolution isn't what gives a game most of its "wow" factor.
Doesn't Sony have a marketing agreement with Bungie for Destiny? Maybe the devil is in THOSE details.
I'm sure there are small things that look better on Forza, but the overall effect on Driveclub is better. In fact, the first thing I said to my son during the conference was, "Gross, look at the rain on the windshield." It didn't look anywhere near as good as Driveclub's, which is really pretty sad, because Driveclub is so old now.
It looks to be similar in a lot of regards to what we got from Sucker Punch and the inFamous series. Which makes me think we'll get a solid game with fun mechanics but a little less polish in some places than we see from other exclusive devs.
Yeah, the trailer on this totally sold me that this is the Spidey game we've been waiting for. Go, Insomniac, go!
Funny to see this being called a Sony fan site. I remember when it was called a Microsoft fan site. Part of me wonders if the fanatics are just game developers and journalists trying to swing people one way or another…you know, like the real media does.
If a dev has as much trouble getting something to run properly as this dev does, then I don't really care what they think about the hardware. It's like Crytek. Crytek makes/made pretty games, but the original Crysis just now runs well on PCs, and there are a lot of games that look better and run better. There's more to hardware than terraflops. Software is 50% of the job. That's where Sony has the competition beat. Their software is ridiculously good.
I don't own an Xbox, but they're ahead on 4K in my book, only because I don't have a 4K bluray player, and none of my 4K Vudu movies work with my Sony TV or PS4. I would have bought an Xbox One S a long time ago, but they're so expensive if UHD discs are all I'd use it for.
