If Sony included it in the box for $50 I would be happy in the hopes it will be utilized, instead the opted to cheap out.
Removing the camera just ensured that we will have another 7-10 years of just the same games with more pixels on screen. That is it!
I wanted a next gen console, not an upgraded pixel pusher. If I did, I would just stick with PC with easily 4 teraflops easily today!
Bunding software doesn't cost Sony anything, so why not?
The only sad thing is how this perhiperal is destined to be completely underutilized. As an accessory, almost nobody will care and that is evident because Sony doesn't have anything really that supports the camera other than a demo.
Sony should have bundoed the camera in the box, because these are the things that pretty much differentiate a console from a PC, not it's gigaflops!
You stop, and let others that want to enjoy this game do so with two word trolls peeing in the pool when you aren't even going to swim!
@Lord Maim:
Kinect Sports and Dance Central selling better than many hardcore games and hitting almost 10 million combined in it's lifetime speaks for Kinect on Xbox 360.
That said if you read the article, the reason controller was introduced into the game is because the DEVELOPER LISTENED TO THEIR CONSUMERS!
You can't win with these fangirls, because if you stick to your vision they will claim, not listening to customers. When they d...
It's like Windows Vista.
Everyone and their mother hated it, so MS gave it a few years and re-introduced Windows Vista as Windows 7 and the herd loved it!
Point being, people don't like change period. They need time to process and get used to it.
Just watch Windows 9 is going to be the winner everyone wanted, even though it is Windows 8 in sheeps clothing.
That pattern has repeated itself gazillion times.
The modern thing is simplicity, not complexity and extra eye candy. You know extra cruft that other systems are doing.
I love the simplicity of my Windows Phone. Never crashes, fast and efficient to find stuff.
To be fair, Moelynoux also says that Fable achievement isn't as impressive either.
@Kayant:
It is probably free to a certain amount, then you accrue very low charges.
Which essentially means win-win for dev. If your game tanks, no cost. If your game is a major winner, you can afford to pay the server cost, which is really really low!
With over 1 million servers, MS is one of less than a handfull of companies worldwide that can do this.
Yeah, AMD is not in a position to bargain, whereas nvidia is.
No secret there.
Nvidia has consistently made far better business decisions and I expect no less here.
It would be Playstation [insert game title here] start according to the article.
That is kind of akward.
Notice that Sony has an income of half a billion, while MS has more than 40 times that for just 2013.
That is of course ignoring, the fact Sony had to sell a building to net that!
There is a reason why MS is worth almost 15 times more than Sony whom is close to their lowest in long history.
or you can stick with a console with NO VISION, that stays with the defacto standard pushing just more pixels.
That is in my opinion #epicfail on both Wii U and PS4. They are practically the same as before. It seems like the next iPhone every year, has more new features.
Which kind of highlights the moot point of initial sales, when we are talking 5 million consoles for PS4 and previously 3.5 million for Wii U.
To me then, it seems the Wii U did exceptionally well relatively speaking, but then just completely tapered off.
All in all, it seems pretty low considered all the fangirl frenzy of 90% polls in favor of PS4 and so on.

Sorry, but you sound like an @ss in your comments. If you write prize winning reviews, it might explain why the state of gaming journalism is soo bad!
It is ironic that when the PS4 does well, it is jubilant truth! When the Xbox One does well, it is the work of the devil and it's money. It can't be true!
Fact is, Xbox One demographic is going to be far wider, and Toys R'us is the typical store for that demographic.
Kinect? Kids love them! So do adults! It's just the hardcore fanatic gamers that are against it, because they see it as a threat.
Good news, Kinect isn't a t...
@Hoi:
Why wouldn't the PS4 be able to read PS3 discs?
PS3 are blu-ray discs too!
MS would be f'in weird, but very plausible to get Xbox One into the Japanese market and show their commitment.
This is one area where it would be far harder for MS to start a studio in Japan, than just to buy one unlike in the US and Europe. Something they could reveal when releasing close to Xbox One release in Japan.
or this could prove the pressure to get short term gains in favor of long term benefit. Dooming the company to continued downward path.
Shareholder pressure isn't always healthy for the company.
Actually it isn't. I read that once you upgrade, you required to have the PS3 disc to play the PS4 version.
This means:
a) the code is to prevent one copy of Ghost buying multiple upgrades
b) the disc requirement to play on PS4, is to prevent you from flooding the market with PS3 versions.
In short, it is the inferior way of doing it, and I would go all digital to avoid all that hassle.
"It's just a tech demo, but it looks neat nonetheless, and I think I would get more than five minutes out of it, especially with my kids."
So now that Sony has a camera and showing it, it is something you would enjoy with your kids, but when MS shows it, you think it is a negative.
You yourself said:
"In fact, I assign them negative worth... many of the Kinect features are detriments in my opinion... not only do I not want ...
