Hate to say, i think this one is DEAD ON. I felt very conflicted when finishing this.
What this reviewer says at the end is exactly how i feel. The added story kills the greatness of this game. It's such a shame. I agree with 7 or 8 outer 10. There's still been alot of effort put into it....to be ruined by some crap filler story.
Yes, I have finished it.
@Tiqila as someone whos almost finished the remake, i agree with you. The game is great when it's being ff7. But, it greatly lets you down when it comes to alot of the added stuff.
Unfortunately, some if this added stuff interferes with the main story too. There's a few scenes that don't happen at all or get changed, for no good reason.
Different isn't bad (the new wall street events were great). But, when the game starts feeling like king...
It's adds and changes things to the main story that make things more dumb and complicated. Prime example is that ghost crap.
Most of stuff that annoyed me was after wall street. For example Shinra tower was great, but they changed a really memorable scene completely. For the worse, of course.
No change the the main story feels justified in any way.
I'm at the end of the bridge after the shinra building, and the liberties they've taken upon a story that didn't need changing has pushed me to possibly hate this game. I think big fans of the original are gonna be angry. Very angry
Estelle from trails in the sky will be smash DLC.
Now hurry up and make an article on my post
New Godess Rebirth/reincarnation, it only made sense in "digital devil story: Megami Tensei (Godess Rebirth)". I don't think the main characters were reincarnations of "gods" in the first SMT. (Won't spoil)
Oh yea, shin megami tensei isn't auppose to be in the name of moat games that have it. That was a localisation idea. Which makes it hard to talk about. Thanks guys.
The only actual SMT titles are the main series, strange...
How petty......
It's closer to superman then alien
Don't listen too him, the platforming is quite fun. The game balances between the cheese and the serious well. It's not afraid of being a video game, and it works in it's favour.

Thankfully Ada had 0 practicality to her design. I'm gonna rock that classic if i get it, tho i wish she wore the gloves too.
I think this generation is less about graphical prowess and more about the small details and behind the scene magic. I think Sony might have the right idea.
Lets be real, microsoft can have as many flops as it wants, but when will they out do anything sony's doing in terms if graphics?
Is that small difference in gpu power gonna make any real difference? What about all the other parts of the machines?
Maybe play some single player games then
Let's keep it that way
You know what i mean. I've seen a few articles playing this piece of crap up in the last few days. Making it out to be a forgotten classic....
Whats next? "FF 13 has the most underrated characters in JRPG History"?
Lol! You mean the most boring combat system ever? Lets not forget that.
Why are people suddenly trying to look at ff 13 in retrospect, and trying to hand out the rose coloured glasses? The game sucked back then, and it sucks more now.
I found the music pretty lacking, except for 1 or 2 tracks. I really hate the main battle theme. It pales compared to the previous ones.
I've finished it. Long story short, it's a great game with dull and convoluted filler added to it. They effectively changed parts of the story to make them considerably worse. They don't change too much, but when they do, the repercussions are HUGE.
I don't mind the areas expanding in size, but there are also a lot unnecessary sections that take away from the pace of the story.
But when it's just being a recreated Final Fantasy 7 with ...
