One of the best? it's ok, but has a lot issues that hold it back

They aren't, all the new additions to the story only hurt the game. And If your not a returning fan, you won't understand a few important scenes in the game AT ALL. The end will be especially confusing to any new comer.
Remake, Remaster or reimagining, it should be a perfectly accessible story from beginning to end. Simply put, it's not.... And pretending the dumb parts of the story don't exist, is disingenuous.

My thoughts exactly. But people are simplifying this issue with "you don't like it because it's different". I don't like it cus the new stuff is written badly. And it going to get worse....much much worse....
If they get rid of nomura....then maybe then rest of the games could recover, but the end of this game screwed shit kinda something fierce.
This is such bullshit.....Most encounters I just spammed square until I won, occasionally pressing triangle. Don't pretend like Turn-based combat is brainless. If you do, you clearly have no clue what you're talking about.

People don't understand peoples issue with what you're talking about. When newly added stuff or the end of the game come about, the writing becomes pure trash. It's quite shocking how many people seem to ignore this? Or they're not paying attention. Especially the ending....It's pure out of tone, nonsensical, "I clapped when I saw it" crap.

Perfect scores for this game makes me wanna throw up. All the extra/changed stuff feels very Nomura. If anyone doesn't know, that means the writing gets awful. Especially at the end of the game, It's gotta be one of the biggest "I clapped when I saw it!" moments ever. But the entire thing is completely out of tone nonsense.
I'm assuming the reason is "I don't understand the character". Sephiroth is wrong in this game.....The only character that seems wrong. Unfortunately, he's also one of the most important.

That and wall market filler is the only stuff I'll admit to enjoy. Wall market was already fun tho

Actually the best aspects of FF7 Remake, Is the characters, setting, mini games and story (when tetsuya nomura isn't fucking with it). All things FF13 had none of. It also has a Combat system you play, what a novel concept.
It didn't work.
Unfortunately, I'm on the other side of the nostalgia cloud. I'm such a fan of the pacing, moments of the game and the impact that came with them. The boring changes REALLY stand out. They might even make me think far less of the game then I should.
That being said, I want people to see the new game, the way I see the old. I played this with the mindset of a newcomer and found so much wrong with this game. The pacing of this game stumbles a lot, to make room for fil...

It's called building up the bad guy. In this he just appears, delusion or not. In the original, he stayed very elusive until you get the back story. When you finally see him, you see why he's such a big deal. This game just throws him at you, expecting you to know who he is. That part you're talking about was great, and I hated its removal for some crappy lab.

Yea....Some of the filler in the main story filler is painful to sit through. I dunno what people mean by "added lore". None of it is interesting or new.
Heck, a great few parts of the game were replaced by some stretched out dungeon.
Sephiroth has also been botched up hard, with his random appearances. But someone would know that, if they played the Original.
