Most tutorial areas are linear, a demo is meant to be just a sample of how the game play (combat) works and in that regard it was fantastic, the original game was super linear in the Mako Reactor's as well because they are just 'dungeons'

It's one thing to ask for a port from an independent team to show there is a market to port you game to.
But this is like wondering why Bloodborne or Spiderman was not ported elsewhere. Nintendo is the publisher, which means they own the IP, meaning it is not going anywhere else.
I want to play it, but I'm in the process of buying a Switch for it, so I patiently wait for what seems like a fantastic game.
RE8/3 are likely to early in development, they have multiple projects running just give them time. RE2 just came out this year, so it will be another year before we hear anything at all about those projects.
Played it on PS4, loved it. Will get it on PC as well.
I don't mind the games coming to PC, it's another market for them to gain sales and higher budget, with that being said, I only expect a select few games to be ported, and only after being on the market for about 3+ years on the market.
At the end of the day, I cannot wait to see Horizon running on PC.
