@cueil
I know and I think fh2 looks awesome, was just saying the only real differences I see that make DC stand apart.
So you build or obtain a ship in this game and it seems like you get to build a crew as well so its not just a fighter your in charge of a whole ship like firefly almost.
this game is getting a lot better than I thought.
Star Citizen does sound a lot deeper than no mans sky...
I wonder why No mans sky is getting so much more press then...
there seems to be no fog effect or the scenes in FH2 always look REALLY clean and crisp and that gives a more color pop and cartoony look. the car models themselves are great but you can see the lighting and special effects differentiate the two games.
for me car models and environments look about equal but drive club gets more realistic look from the lighting and effects like the fog.
yeah you think the touch pad would lend itself to more minecraft type games...
so is Star citizen and No mans sky similar space sandbox games?
I wonder if either will actually have a story or is it just free range space exploring scavenging/building?
Uhm... Pokémon? its technically not all turn based (combat mainly).
im confused you just said an open world racer is bound to look less awesome (an excuse as to why it doesn't have the same amount of special effects to make it look as gritty and real as DC).
then you go and ask whats forzas excuse? uhm... its an open world game... it looks pretty impressive ALBEIT lacking special affects. plus Forza has always had that popping color palette.
Driveclub does look better. I feel environments are about the same, but I think the jarring difference is the art style of the cars and special effects. I look at FH2 and the colors POP! where as DC uses more subtle colors and special effect filters over the picture (very heavy use of fog) to give it a more realistic look.
Pretty impressive to both games though.
Wow surprised this is an xbox exclusive (I know it started on XBLA) since I thought M$ did not own the rights to this IP...
It would be interesting if Tomb Raider became a permanent fixture in M$ exclusive lineup... would give good variety.
But I doubt M$ would ever shell out the money for tomb raider especially depending how much SE might ask for the IP... Maybe M$ will take a chance and make their own action adventure game... OH WAIT there's Quantum Break... good times ahead...
that's the issue. I believe its published by Square Enix...
So we don't know if the deal with M$ is to lock it up to XBO and PC to make it console exclusive (smart deal for M$) or it its just for 6-12 months of console exclusive (which is a dumb deal imo).
in reality TR franchise has been rather dismal up until the reboot... if you look up sales they are pretty even across the board (I will admit that there is a slight tilt towards PS). the TR franchise has survived years of obscurity it will survive the bane of the sony fanboy.
but I don't see a huge loss, only gain for M$ and also if they paid enough to CD/SE for console exclusivity to cover for loss of sale from keeping it off PS4 and at the same time being able to rele...
when was it said that it would come to PS4?
I know they said that exclusivity had a duration but we don't know if hes just talking about PC or both PC and PS4... either way... IF ITS only a timed exclusive and will come out to PS4 this was the stupidest waste of money imo.
its like cmon M$ if your gonna make a big f'n deal about grabbing something as an exclusive make sure it doesn't end up on the PS4...
on the flip side if its ju...
of course they are, they think every developer and publisher in the business owes them something and that if it aint on PS4 then its a sin!
I can understand the point of view that it was a multi plat game and what not. but as long as it still comes out to PC and Xbox ONE I don't see it hurting the franchise just because its not on PS4.
But we do not know atm if Microsoft were able to lock up console exclusivity... IF its just a timed exclusive and comes ...
*salivating*
I think we need to find out if its console exclusive though. we know for certain with M$ being involved XBO AND PC will get this game (XBO first).
BUT we still have no confirmation whatsoever about if Rise of the Tomb Raider is a Xbox Console Exclusive which would still be a pretty big deal for Xbox.
It most likely be Xbox One exclusive first and see a PC release later next year.
I think as long as Microsoft keeps it off PlayStation its a win for them.
@dboyc310
If Microsoft was smart they would lock it up for Xbox One and allow it to be released on PC for later. I agree it seems weird for a multiplat game to go from all to ONE.
But it does benefit Microsoft now it has another big name game it can call out in its exclusives list. I think it will sell good in general.
honestly I think DC has better lighting and special effects. during a day time race the car models and environments look great on both and seem about equal. but when DC (eventually) gets weather it does looks a lot better due to the superior lighting and special effects.
