i agree with you, i am buying this game regardless if its a 7 or not from some reviewer, i know that this game will be enjoyable for me... but since we are here at N4G it bugs me how people choose only the negative reviews and act as if its the whole consensus of the medias opinion.
for both of your intelligent comments, people keep going into AW articles and say OMFG IT GOT A 7 FROM EDGE!!! or a 6.5 from someone who just didn't get into the game when the actual census for the game is 8.5-9... i cant wait to play this game!
people are making this to be a huge gap and omg alan wake cant ever be close to their precious UC2... it is... yes UC2 is better looking still! dont cry fanboys just because an xbox game happens to look amazing as well... pfft
believe there is this grand canyon gap between playstation games and xbox games... seriously halo reach, alan wake, mass effect, and gears (1,2, and soon 3) are all very visually great games that are in the same league... as any PS3 game. yes right now UC2 has the crown but its not GOD of graphics... all these games look visually stunning lets all be happy gamers!!!
the reason i will buy it is because it seems to be a western done right!... for people who like westerns ;)

its out of those games league, people seem to focus on few reviews that were below 8 when most of the reviews are 8-9.5...
but its more convenient to forget all the praise the game gets and focus on the 7 from EDGE magazine...
how does this game get a 8 in graphics??? people are so damn stubborn with games, its one of the best looking to come out recently and even in his review summary he highlighted how good the graphics are (reading the whole review he never commented on graphics except how immerse he felt in the game WTF)... but he gives them an 8?
this is ridiculous and some people feel that they need to tromp on a game just to feel like they are good journalist or something...
i mean im a huge xbox fan and love all the games but have M$ ever heard of competitive pricing??? I mean seriously... what makes it so damn expensive... other than their greed of course...
I think games like Alan Wake, ME were games MS took risk on and looks like they succeeded... both of those games are hugely story driven just like those PS3 games u listed...
Im only saying this because people act like M$ never tries anything...

the first DLC is free, so hopefully they will all be free or at least cheap, if they charge 10 dollars it better be for like 5 hours of gameplay at least... heres to hoping. doesnt change the fact that its a cool idea hence why everyone is still going nuts waiting for Half life episode 3

does everyone skip over the fact that this game will have episodic content remedys purpose for this game was to tell a satisfying first season and leave it open for new seasons or episodes (already seen by the free DLC when you buy it new showing most likely you will get these new seasons or episodes free or hopefully for not too much money)... it is set up to be linear but to last a long time with more story! I personally cant wait to get it but people seem to not appriciate more is coming.....

i don't understand your comment, 3 of the 4 games are not coming out this year (is there an infamous 2 coming out?) and GT5 will only win (if any) a few GOTY (racers imo dont really seem to win GOTY)
to make a more realistic list than yours Alan wake, Halo: Reach, Fable 3, or Red Dead Redemption are my GOTY candidates :P
at least on my list all the games come out this year ;) and yes i chose all 360 games because for some odd reason you only chose PS3 games hm...
