All I've read are great things about the A.I. Are you talking about the A.I. if it's set on Normal or Easy? If so, remember those modes are toned down, catered for the non-gaming crowd. A.I. on Heroic or Legendary is supposed to be great.
Only gripe with A.I. I've heard is teammate A.I. Arbiter is useless, and Marines are Brute fodder.

Theres nothing quite like playing zombies in any game. Being chased down by a dozen enemies that cant do anything but beat you down/slash with sword.
It can be quite exhilarating seeing how long the last guy can stay alive as many people try their hardest to kill them.
