I dont get your point, my post is only a realist take on the issue at hand. You think im taking this into Sonys positive? Not really, but if my PS3 works poorly within a month i would make sure Sony responds to their warranty on their pricey product instead of complaining in this site.
i do prefer my PS3 a lot to the 360, but i agree with you.
No failure problems, but it does freezes plenty. Nothing that impares gaming, just a minor inconvenience. The major part of time it works great.
At least this is my experience in the year i had my PS3

If Sony told u your console may need repairs, use the warranty, there is always a minimal failure rate with electronics. Use the warranty, get it working rig...

I traded plenty of old games and not so old ones ($20 for CoD 4 and $20 for Gears 2 are preety good deals) using game stop offers and got up to a $154 in total for a bunch of PS2 games and some current gen games. That is awesome for getting new games in this economy.
The $60 tag for some of the crap that is release is just asking for poor sales. Average $40, AAA (big budget games) $60
There are way too many games that dont deserve the $60 tag.
But if it is from Sony, i trust them. Al least they fully support what they release, like the beta for example. I will also support them, they deliver with the PS3 and i am grateful. It may sound blind fanboyism, but that is the way it is, it has Nothing to do with the competition.
i will wait till it sells reasonable numbers. I dont want to be alone on those beautiful maps
I find the MP really intense and quiet hard (not in a bad way). The intensity level of 30 shooters action is always high. When i play the 30 minutes sessions i feel tired, like i have been out doing something. I think the experience is unique and worth getting the game.

Hidden gem is a game that is release and sells average over the years, but the game deserves better. Examples: Ico, Shadow of the Colossus, Heavenly Sword, Okami.
Forza was successful, hence it loses the hidden gem status. Getting recognition for a new IP was a great feat. Hopefully F3 will deliver where F2 fell short (way short).

MS followers are always talking about sales and metacritic. Good news for 360, but rarely i read something like "This 360 game has better lighting, graphics , animations, more cars in race, or any technical achievement. Those who point at the realism of Forza just because cars break without ANY fidelity to the real cars specifics is misleading. All cars break the same way, most sound the same, the rear traction ones feel like they are build to make donuts on the parking lot. 360's problems are due to negligence in MS quality control by going forward KNOWING that the design was flawed. Next xbox i dont think i will "Jump In" the volcano

With trophies i can see the gold and platiniums and quickly have an idea of how hardcore the friend is.
With achivements i have no clue.
