With the rewards passes at SonyRewards.com, I think they are somewhat more worthwhile than your standard achievement on other systems. For instance if you earn 10 platinums, they give you 10 bucks in reward money. There is no pre defined timeline like other services. As soon as you earn 10 you get 10 bucks. Earning those 10 may take time but there are also those really easy 20 minute platinum games out there 😂

As per the conference it allows you to “turn your own Xbox one into a server”

The FAQ just went up. if you want to play at 4k60 5.1 you will need to be a stadia pro subscriber. If you want to play at MAX 1080p30 you can do this WITHOUT being a subscriber. Stadia pro comes with some free games and it may or may not come with a pipe of games similar to ps+ or gold. You have the choice to outright buy games too. The games you buy will be streamed at a quality based on your subscriber level (either 4k60 if you’re a pro or 1080p30 if you’re not a subscriber pending your int...

I agree. I should have said games I want to play and then talk about with friends. But I think you can argue that these are multiplayer experiences. Especially if these SP games are the ones we play at the same time and discuss together over drinks

I think this article points a few things out clearly. As (primarily) a console gamer, I largely am platform agnostic. I’ll buy all the consoles if I see them providing me something that I want in gaming. I own a switch. I also own the PS4 pro and the One X. I Had preferences for sure prior, first to the n64 and cube, later to the Xbox and 360 and, at the latter years towards the ps3 especially in 2011 and beyond. Even though I own all 3, I will LARGELY buy on my PS4 and, to a lesser extent, t...

Buying studios is just one step. The ethos at Microsoft has been making games as a vehicle for some other initiative. Case in point: forcing crackdown 3 as a means to highlight gamepass. For subscribers it’s an option...equivalent to Netflix streaming shovelware. It’s an option for sure but not a very good one. I do feel bad for those that actually forked out 60 for it.

Basically, I’m glad Microsoft is trying to improve their first party but I have a STRONG HESITATION abou...

You have to look at those numbers in context. PSN alone (not disc games or retail hardware, just purchases made on the Sony Network) made more than all of Xbox division ( https://m.ign.com/articles/... That’s their hardware, games (both physical and digital), accessories, including the one X.

I would find it hard to imagi...

Should have added that as a caveat if you’re not feeling the switch or as a third console 😃

There are some ridiculous Xbox One X sales on Walmart right now (350 with a game). Highly recommend anyone who is thinking about Xbox or a PS4 owner who wants a second console to take the plunge.

Ps now games with online don’t need ps plus to play online. It’s included with the individual game. It’s something unique about ps now and psn in general vs Xbox

I’ve been using the service for over 2 years now with my 50/10. It’s been quite nice especially for backlog catch-up or trophy churning. Works well but I’m one of the rarer people that streams more than downloads.

Highly recommend anyone to check it out for a month. Course it highly depends on your interest in their game offering.

I wonder what that Xbox fanboy colt Eastwood is going to say about this.

I like how sony is giving options for the next console. I'm digital myself but can respect disc purchases. My one thought would be the option for digital buyers to get an additional PS now copy that can be played over streaming the instant they buy (and please make it 1080p60 at least) to allow for instant play while the game downloads in the background and then with seamless transition to the higher quality local copy once it downloads sufficiently. If you're a PS now subscriber it w...

Another PS4 benefit seems to be the price of the Digital Deluxe edition. It seems to be 10% off if you preorder coming to 72.00 dollars for the season pass version. Also a welcome bonus to PS4 players and again emphasizing Remedy’s attempt at trying to court them as they previously ignored them.

Edit: it’s only for PS+ subscribers. Still not a bad deal...more content for less money.

Yes that helps but it also adds to incentivize a purchase. “Look at this extra content you get on ps4...maybe I’ll take a plunge” or something along that line.

The Xbox one x is a super console but it’s the smallest minority of the console landscape. The PS4 is near 100 million and pro is a small portion of that (though I suspect it’s more in total numbers than Xbox one x).

So it makes total sense to first develop for the most popular platform and then scale from there. Some devs have the resources to do a lot like Rockstar, CD projekt, some don’t.

To put a blanket statement that you won’t purchase games that ...

That’s a valid option though I think you’ll be missing out. I think remedy makes some solid games, particularly I enjoyed Alan wake and Quantum break and I don’t expect Control to have any less in quality (man I wish they remade max payne 1&2).

But platform allegiance doesn’t make sense to me. It’s as if you’re saying “it’s not on Xbox”. It IS on Xbox. It’ll be there with all dlc eventually. And you can play it on the one x in likely full 4K cause that’s what important...

Why? They’re actually trying to court a platform they previously ignored for 10 years give or take. If anything it’s a good business decision because sales drive future games.

Agreed. If anything it’s a solid business decision. Seems like only rabid Xbox diehards are bothered by this.

I remember when xbox fans (myself included) were aggressively punishing PlayStation players for not getting COD DLC, bioshock, gta dlc and more. Now the shoe is on the other foot...

I think remedy made a sound call. Trying to establish itself as a strong developer to a platform it hasn’t worked with in a LONG TIME with timed exclusive content in order to drum up sales on said platform is a good business decision (and good business drives game production). If Xbox players ar...
