I don't know why, but the word "Zynga" made me think of this... =)

Absolutely LOVED Mirror's Edge, can't wait for the sequel!

That's another reason why I haven't embraced it yet, as it's essentially a discount membership and I've had my PS3 long enough to have purchased all the decent PSN games (Wipeout HD, Flower, etc.).

Nope, because all those "freebies" don't actually belong to you; they're gone the second your subscription runs out.

Uh, nobody ever changed his mind, if you read what he wrote yesterday, then the author would know that...

It's probably because he's talking to an audience that's FAR less mature age-wise (for the most part) and the amount of unintelligent comments made by readers of his critique far surpass those that were intelligent and well thought out.

It's kind of like telling a kid to eat their vegetables and they keep saying "NO!". The kid doesn't care what you say, he's not going to eat them. Even though I disagree with Ebert, I feel that this analogy fi...

LOL, it's Kane and Lynch, the same game that had GameSpot editors fired for giving it a bad score... so who's supposed to care about this game again?

Indeed. He keeps reminding everyone that he believes what he believes in THEORY. This is a theoretical discussion, which sort of eliminates the notion of right and wrong.

I think Ebert is trying understand where we're coming from, but his position is solid and I doubt he'll budge. I mean, honestly, he's going at it intelligently, while many others aren't, which only makes him look that much better in the argument.

But honestly, can I see where he's coming from? Yes. But I can also say that I disagree with his stance. Although many games have a sense of malleability, they still have a mainly static structure and storyline wh...

I did support the developers... THE FIRST TIME I BOUGHT THOSE GAMES. If Sony had left full B/C on the PS3, then these HD remakes WOULD be considered fan service, but since they didn't, it has become another way to recycle a product, make money on that product and somewhat screw the consumer.

I just want PS2 compatibility back. These HD upgrades are just another excuse for Sony to milk us for money by having us purchase games we ALREADY OWN.

Pure 2? PLEASE let it be Pure 2!

No kidding. The price cut and Slim released happened in early September, I don't think a mere 3 months is enough to put Sony in the black. Obviously they still had a year's worth of losses to make up for.

Actually, they WERE losing on each console sold until a short time after the PS3 Slim was released along with the price cut. NOW they are making a profit on each console, albeit very little ATM.

Probably because Sony pointed out truthful points, because the the cirque du soleil and blue ponchos WERE ridiculous.

As much as I love the games this generation, he's kinda right. We've seen some INCREDIBLE games this generation, but few that have mass appeal from young kids to adults like many that reigned up to the PS2 days, like Crash, Sonic, Mario and the like.

Games nowadays seem to be more about simulation and interaction, instead of fun. But the kind of fun I'm talking about is different. I'm talking about the innocent, kid-friendly version of fun, it's just not ...

Hmmm, very interesting write-up.

Ouch, no Offspring in Crazy Taxi is definitely a big setback for me, that music essentially made the game, really.

Actually they do. Obviously United States soldiers aren't really trained to use black market rifles like the AK (maybe they are, I dunno), but all soldiers have the basic classes down. Basic infantry has the ability to use an M16, Sniper Rifle, etc. Of course there are classes in the military, but that doesn't mean they're mentally incapable of using another class's weapons.
