No freakin' way. Are you guys just looking for excuses to use it in games? This one clearly doesn't need it, and it would only help to bring an otherwise great game down.
LOL, the writer is sorta sad. Sympathy for bad guys much?
Does anybody else remember Candace from UPick Live on Nickelodeon? She co-hosted with that dude Brent.
Same here. Never played the older games because the graphics were so-so and the gameplay was just not fun to me. Add to that the grungy, demonic styling which totally turned me off. The series just never appealed to me at all.
Pressure from pushing down? That's something that Nintendo would have DEFINITELY utilized, kinda like they're doing with uDraw now. But man, that would've been neat.
Any other 'The Show' fans in the house?
It's called professionalism. If I wanted those kinds of headlines, I'd just hire some random 13-year old to write them. There's no need for the CONSTANT immaturity found in gaming "journalism" these days. Man, I miss the days when maturity and integrity were the key components of a gaming journalist. >.<
What a great write-up! OK, now this is one example of gaming journalism done right. Granted, it has to do with other sites, but this was an excellent read!
I agree with everything on that list, except for Heavy Rain. Heavy Rain sold well as was a one-of-a-kind experience. I personally didn't care for the game, but it wasn't a disappointment.
Man, the only thing I dread are the "previews" and "rapid response" events. Criterion took that idea straight from Burnout, although I will admit that it's a great challenge and pretty much makes you a better player. Heck, sure beats the crap out of having to earn licenses in GT5. =p
Eek! I dunno. SHIFT had a great feel to it, along with excellent cockpit views and engine roars, but the horrific framarate, as well as a number of other issues, held it back. There's no way that SHIFT saved the Need for Speed franchise.
Great review for an INCREDIBLE game. Criterion never ceases to amaze me.
I hope everyone realized that the PS3 only has 256 MB GDDR 3RAM, although an additional 224 MB can be shared with system RAM.
Good review man. =) You're gonna have to keep an eye out for my editorial, because it was either this or NFS... and I went with NFS. B)
Harsh reality. GT5 is great, but not the end-all be-all of racing games. It's more simulation than game, which ultimately hurts the fun-factor side of things.
How so? I mean, I understand your sarcasm, but it makes no sense to me. GT5 and NFS: HP are totally different games. I thoroughly enjoy racing games that provide an adrenaline rush and NFS does that. GT5 will be incredible and I'm definitely getting it at some point, but the racing is just as bland as it has always been.
Dude, you should give Need for Speed a shot. Driving as a cop with this tune blasting via in-game soundtrack on PS3 is beyond epic.
I MAY be holding off, not sure. It's either Gran Turismo 5 or Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit, and the NFS demo really sold me on that game.
Finally Auditorium! Been waiting for that for some time.
I guess we shouldn't expect any less from Criterion! Class acts all the way. I just pray that they take the same approach with Hot Pursuit as they did with Burnout Paradise and keep the free content coming!
