I've been going through MGS withdrawal for years. It's seriously killing me.
Resistance 3 was such a FREAKING good game. It was a shame that the market was flooded with quality stuff at that time, because I'm pretty sure it was overlooked by MANY (plus, I was in gaming retail at the time, so I KNOW it was overlooked by many).
I'm gonna' need you break out the chart, coach.
I don't know why people are down-voting you. I totally agree. I actually hope they come to their senses and reverse all this nonsense, but if they don't, I'll wait as long as it takes until we actually get a "complete" edition (even though I have ZERO desire to give Sega any of my money at this time).
When you need a chart to explain purchasing a game/compilation that should require ZERO explanation, yeah, it is.
I wish I could up-vote your comment multiple times. ON. POINT.
@SurgicalMenace - You definitely sound like someone who doesn't own the game, and hasn't kept up with the changes since launch. And if you do own the game, wow, the willful ignorance is STRONG here.
They introduced micro-transactions AFTER launch, and then tanked all the payouts to make folks practically dependent on them. They only reversed the latter after an insane amount of well-deserved public outcry. Yes, it's bait-and-switch, and is the definition of pred...
@RickRoland - Yeah, that was pre-the update that obliterated all the payouts. I did the same, and that doesn't mean a whole lot.
I don't own any Xbox consoles, only PlayStation, so yeah, you better believe I'm gonna' call out Sony/Polyphony for horrible business practices. Unfortunately, I can't speak for Xbox titles, since I don't own any, but bad practices are bad no matter what console they're on. It's fair if you think people are more harsh on a particular console, but this isn't the game to hold up in that fight. The stuff with GT7 was just horrendously bad, and not even the subredd...
It was horrific until the public outcry got most of the diminished race rewards returned to their original status or better, along with the 1-million credit bump. It was actually so bad, that you would be able to obtain one of the pricier cars faster if you got a part-time job, and bought credits that way, than spend time racing to earn credits (some folks do actually have lives and responsibilities). On top of that, they didn't have micro-transactions live when reviewers got the game, so...
You sound like one of the reasons this game sucks (ignorant consumers who throw money at anything shiny, regardless of the quality). The micro-transactions are predatory, and actually effect the game as a whole.
BC existed beyond the first year. From the launch model with the actual BC hardware in it, into the next iteration where the BC was software-based. I believe BC for PS2 made it a good 2-3 years post-launch, and PSOne was always there, so that BC never actually left.
Is it possible to pre-load for the disc version, since the disc is primarily for verification purposes, or is that still not a thing?
EDIT: This was an incredibly stupid question. Ignore it, lol.
It seems the PSP generation just whizzed right by you, along with the PS3 generation.
Con - This is about to get really bad for Sony.
Pro - Does this mean we might actually get custom themes, along with the removal of the "Explore" button?
Dude, I've probably poured 20+ hours into the game, and I'm not even out of Act 1 yet. I am absolutely SAVORING this experience. No rushing whatsoever.
I think a fully-realized "Ghost of Tsushima" on PS5, with basically no compromise, is going to be an absolute sight to behold. I can't wait. While I LOVE the game, I understand the limitations with current hardware, so once those limitations are gone, BRING IT ON.. AGAIN!
I love the fact that there's enough to do that you can focus on one aspect, get bored, move onto something else, get bored, and continue with that cycle. It's enough to continually feel fresh and engaging. Just when I was getting a little tired of constant swordplay, I kicked it into "Metal Gear Solid mode", whipped out the Ronin armor, and went to town on some mongol bases like Solid Snake. Such a blast.
Yeah, it's going to work out well for them with the repeat purchases, too, much like when "The Last of Us" re-released on the PS4. I'm sure they have alternate versions already optimized for the PS5 (or will soon), and I absolutely plan to pick them up (unless Sony is awesome enough to provide free upgrade options or something).
C'mon, this is definitely not a 10/10 game, not even close. I thoroughly enjoyed finishing it last night, but it's, at best, an 8/10. I think the reviewer became a fan, and decided to just ignore all the faults.
EDIT: Just realized that they don't give a numerical score on the site, just a thumbs-up.
