It's about time Sony! We had the see-through controllers on the PS2, and it took WAY too long for them to hit the PS3! Very cool though.
My opinion? If you already have the games and not the downloadable equivalents, snag them so you never have to use a disc again, at least it'll be more convenient.

This is SWEET! Can't wait for some online MK2 action! And this should be better. Not too fond of the initial version of MK2 that used to be available on the PSN. Bad controls and FORCED full-mic audio if your mic was plugged in... what!?

I LOVE this article! I feel the exact same way. This outage has effectively broken my dependence on the constant social networking and interaction associated with the PSN, and has enabled me to get out and get focused on other things in life, which is proving to be quite beneficial!

I really enjoyed the demo for this game, hoping to pick it up at some point.
Sony likes it because it will cost Xbox Live members even more, meaning many users will start to feel cheated out of their cash and jump over to the PS3. I mean, you're now seeing a cost of $60+ per year to play a single game, most logical thinking folks would find that abhorrent.
